Ok, the idea of this Earth Changes section of the forum is to cut out
the hype and give you a scare-free hard-nosed take on things.
But the idea of this new scare-umentary from ABC is to dream up every
possible way that humans could go extinct --and scare you sh*tless.
All part of the relentless PsyOp-ing of the masses. Groan.
The promo video interview with Hawking is hilarious. Remember recently
he said we should prepare big spaceships in case we need to leave Earth.
ROTFLMAO

'Last Days on Earth'
Change How You See the World
How smart are we as a civilization? Smart enough to control our
destiny and avoid the cataclysms that may end life as we know it?
Watch "Last Days on Earth," a special 2-hour
edition of "20/20," Wednesday, Aug. 30, at 9 p.m.
For thousands of years, different religions have warned Earth about Armageddon and the final days.
We are now living in an age where scientists are adding their voices and their evidence in support of end-of-the-world possibilities.
"Last Days on Earth" is a program that could change the way you see your world and yourself.
The world's top scientists, including Stephen Hawking, considered the foremost living theoretical physicist, describe seven riveting scenarios detailing the deadliest threats to humanity.
Some can destroy the planet, others have the ability to render us extinct, and all have the power to destroy civilization.
How likely are they to occur, and what exactly would happen if they did, and could we survive?
"Last Days on Earth" goes beyond science fiction to science fact.
Using state-of-the-art visual effects, it will take viewers on a journey that is both breathtaking and terrifying, from the outer reaches of the universe to the inner world of DNA, with an around-the-globe tour in between.
"Of all the generations of humans that have walked the surface of the Earth — for 100,000 years, going back when we first left Africa — the generation now alive is the most important," said Michio Kaku, professor of theoretical physics at City University of New York.
"The generation now alive, the generation that you see, looking around you, for the first time in history, is the generation that controls the destiny of the planet itself."

Well, ahem, Hawking is fa-ucked: Wheelchairs don't work on Mars.
Anagram of 'Stephen Hawking':
'Pawn? He's the King!'
Pawn indeed.
What a game he's in
Playing with our heads .
But, to his credit, he's got da Alien voice down to a tee .
Shame he can't play golf.

I suppose it's a bad idea to mock the afflicted....
But I can't argue with the symbolism of our "greatest thinker".
Yeah.

|

Briefly put, the Fund is a cross between a lottery and a raffle. "Donations" or purchase of special neato tickets will raise money to build immense spaceships, thereby saving humans from extinction in the event of thermonuclear destruction, asteroids, et al. The tickets pulled from the magic hat years later will reveal who gets to go for a trip into space.
Now I reveal the lengths to which I've gone in considering the details of the Fund.
There's more!
Corporations and entrepreneurs will receive discounts for large donations, at the same time allowing their products a spot on the ship.... Good for business and the economy!

As to total extinction, I don't put my money on runaway disease... it is too unlikely
that an event such as a runaway Ebola or airborne trigger of AIDS-like breakdown
would cross species. It would just cull most humans and the remaining humans in
various exterme climate enclaves would survive.
My money is on a climate related event, COLD with excessive cloud cover for
a long time, because such an event would globally affect indiginous humans' ability to survive.
Where the methods of survival are most traditional, there is the least ability to adapt quickly.
Where the methods of survival are complicated, our lack of inherent preparation over time
leads to total breakdown of modern society, a condition in which we'll basically by
sheer numbers frig up the chances of the humans in our midst that have viable
alternatives. There would be an underground Morlock cannibal society for a time,
but we lack the practice to make such things work.
We'd eat the Amish first because they have that tasty home cooked
flavor we love. But it's moot, even the Amish are riding on chlorophyll survival.
Third most likely slate wiper is 06-Nov-2007: Asteroid Impact
Second most likely slate wiper is a supervolcanic event like HL BFN 01-Jan-2007: Yellowstone.
This is my New Years' post from last year. But note the latest (kind of surprising)
3.6 quake report is from yesterday. Happy New Year! ;-)
Quote: | AP 7:24 a.m. December 31, 2007 Yellowstone quake
SALT LAKE CITY - A magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck Yellowstone National Park
late Sunday, causing no injuries or damage, authorities said.
The University of Utah Seismograph Stations says the earthquake
was followed by 13 aftershocks ranging up to 2.4 in magnitude.
The epicenter of the shock was a dozen miles northeast of West Yellowstone,
Mont., and 4.2 miles deep. It was recorded at 8:29 p.m. Sunday.
Earthquakes in Yellowstone are fairly common, but seismologist say the
3.6-magnitude quake was a little stronger than usual. Quakes of magnitude
3.0 or larger have happened only 28 times in the greater Yellowstone park
area in past 35 years.
Yellowstone is one of the most seismically active regions in the continental
United States and absorbs hundreds of quakes occur each year. |
And the most likely slate wiper is... sorry folks, no disclosure. Because it's
something anyone can do with common kitchen utensils, a pound of lentils, bottle
of ketchup (catsup will not work)... and one other unspecified ingredient.
The only thing that can *really* save us is going into HL BFN 19-Nov-2006 Space.
And when we do, avoid exporting lentils OR ketchup.

I would rather fail spectacularly than succeed minimally.

"As soon as the people discover that they can vote themselves 'benefits' from the public treasury they have lost their freedom"
(I forgot who said this).
Thus was born the Bank of England - followed by the Federal Reserve.
The intent is to keep the sheeple in a continual state of fear/anxiety. |
