Just some statistics:

Voter turn-out in Newton was for Romney.
http://www.statementofvote-sots.ct.gov/StatementOfVote/WebModules/ReportsLink/PresSumStat.aspx
(click on Town to open PDF file)

Newton's stats - GOP 7,451 Dem 6,784 Independent 41 Libertarian 122

48 of the 169 towns went for Romney in CT.

The town obviously clings to their guns and god, since they are talking about forgiveness and have been going to church since the afternoon after the incident happened. They must've been really happy to see Obama there to give his speech at the church today.

I haven't watched any of the news coverage of this - I just can't!
It's deja vu - literally!
For some strange reason it's getting fashionable to slaughter people - the younger and more innocent, the better - as if we're trapped in some addictive virtual porno video game.

It's so sick. It's so sad.

I'm numb to what happened in Connecticut and other places.
I can imagine their grief, but I'd rather not.
You might even know the people personally, but you'll never know their trauma.

Every time I go back to Scotland, I try to visit Dunblane and my parents' grave.
Just behind it are the graves to sixteen "wee bairns" and their teacher who died that day, sixteen years ago.
It's a beautiful and peaceful and uplifting place with its perfectly tended gardens, ribbons and wind mills and chimes and the photos of those who will never age.

For some strange reason it fills you with hope.

Perhaps one day the carnage will end.

One day Newton too will find peace, although it will never be the same.

God bless their souls.

AM I READING THIS RIGHT? WTF?????????

http://www.cnn.com/interactive/2012/12/us/sandy-hook-timeline/index.html
At the police station, dispatchers began to take calls from inside the school. Authorities say the first emergency call about the shooting came in at "approximately" 9:30 a.m.
"Sandy Hook school. Caller is indicating she thinks someone is shooting in the building," a dispatcher told fire and medical personnel, according to 911 tapes.
Police and other first responders arrived on scene about 20 minutes after the first calls.

They have an active shooter in an elementary school, with a fire station a hundred yards away, and it takes them TWENTY MINUTES to arrive??????

wondering what the timeline was for Lanza's morning before he left the house.

why didn't his mom hear anything? and wasn't she up early to get ready to teach class? or was she shot way earlier than that? no one heard the guns go off? why wouldn't that make Lanza paranoid enough to not leave house right away? so then was he dressed up and ready to complete the act quickly before his mom woke up? did he swipe the gun some time before that day?

re - using the presumed equipment at the school: how much target practice did this fellow have? how many amateurs could pull that off? is it that easy to point and shoot hundreds of rounds?

She was not a teacher at the school.

They are saying the mother was shot with a .22, which don't make too much noise. The house was also fairly large on a large lot. There was a .22cal rifle found in the house.

I don't think it is at all that easy. But most people get their ideas of what shooting a weapon is like from Hollywood movies, so they don't question the story.

There is a theory that says 'it's all an act,' which I have never been a fan of, but now, after watching this video of the alleged father of a slain child, I'm starting to wonder:

starviego: re - mom being a school teacher at SH... sorry, all this time i thought that's what they were reporting. my bad. and that he killed HER class kids. wtf was i hearing?

anyway... people on social media all going ballistic about gun-control as if the inner-city hadn't had any problems forever. and then posting all these stats re how country x,y and z have less gun-related deaths, blah-blah-blah... like, what's the population numbers comparitvely to ours and we already have a gazzlion guns on-hand (and rising, in fact, as gun shoppers are rushing to buy more.) well, obviously wasn't bad for business, huh?

arguments aside online i am very sad for all these people involved. can't we just stop and mourn a minute before we all go yelling our heads off with the Lib vs GOP shit and why G-d was or wasn't there??? oy.

btw, that graphic looks sort of like staten island... and the real sandy hook is just south of that in NJ, from where you can see staten island.

the "strike zone" (dotted circle with box) were that actually a map of staten island, would be perth amboy, NJ. (upon edit: or elizabeth, NJ, where i come from... depending which bridge crossing we're thinking of.)

just for the record, geographically speaking.

I was in staten today and will be there tomorrow...stop freaking me out red! lmao. Anyways anyone care to explain the video fintan posted? i can't play videos on my phone (hence the grammar here). was it linking this event to the dark knight shooting? also...star/ralph...i respect the research you do, but don't go there with the "it's all fake" stuff. these are real dead people. sometimes people act strange when in shock, let alone on camera. however i do think parents that let their kids get interviewed might be assholes. anyways, forgetting this...more later

Two law enforcement sources told CNN that the day before the massacre there was a disagreement at the school between Lanza and two teachers, the school psychologist and the principal, three of whom were killed Friday while one teacher is the massacre's only survivor. The source said the argument had something to do with Lanza trying to enter the school.

[UPDATE 8:47 p.m.] CNN now reports that a law enforcement source says earlier reports about the alleged disagreement have been investigated and are not accurate. Connecticut State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance said he knew of no reports about Lanza being involved in any altercations at the school.

Officials Lanza blasted his way into the school wearing black fatigues and a bulletproof vest before opening fire in two classrooms at around 9:30 a.m. The state's chief medical examiner told CNN that all of the victims were killed by multiple gunshot wounds from the .223-caliber Bushmaster rifle.

Two Law enforcement officials told CNN that contrary to earlier reports, Nancy Lanza, 52, was never a teacher or a substitute at Sandy Hook Elementary. Newtown residents "were at a loss to describe what she did for a living", according to The New York Times.

Points of note.

Like, there's a red herring floated by cops and CNN.
And then later..... contradicted by.... cops and CNN.
