On Jan, 20, 2016, Richard D. Manwiller, 60, of Antioch, TN,
formerly of Laureldale, PA, lost his long time battle with cancer.

A graduate of Muhlenberg High School and Lincoln Technical Institute,
he was the son of the late Russell H, and Miriam Mae (Miller) Manwiller.

He is survived by daughter Stephanie (Manwiller) wife of Keith
Eckstein of Clark Summit, PA, and brothers Russell R. husband
of Beverly, Ronald E., husband of Elaine, Robert G., and Royce
L. Manwiller, husband of Carol.

Rick was a lifetime musician, the consummate musical performer,
singer, songwriter, keyboardist, guitarist, bassist, drummer, producer,
arranger and sound engineer for well known musical acts such as
The Little River Band, Country artists Jimmy Wayne, David Nail,
Jake Owen, Darryl Worley to name a few.

He played in many local bands (Gaslyte, Steff, Steph, Mr Quick,
Paul Clemens Band), nationally and internationally known rock bands
including Dakota, Secret City, Mr Lucky and more, including performing
flawless single and duo musical acts all over the world.

The music industry and his fans will miss him greatly.
No services are planned.

The Best Of Rumpl

I've been going thru Rumpl's old posts....
from recent times and back in time:
http://bit.ly/RickPostsOnBFNews

A wry and great sense of humor throughout. Wink

I have been asked by members here too keep them informed on plans for a Memorial Service for Rick (Rump) Some members asked if I could find out where to send cards and tributes. Below is a message posted on the GoFundMe page set up by his daughter Steph.

Rick had exhausted all his finances paying for medical treatments before the cancer was diagnosed because he did not have medical insurance. He was not receiving disability assistance.

I chatted to Ricks brother who expressed appreciation and asked if donations could be made to the medical fund as posted by Fintan in an earlier post:

Any donations to help defray medical expenses will be
graciously accepted in Rick's GoFundMe account:

Hey everyone, I figured this would be the best place for an update on this since so many have inquired about future arrangements for my Dad. Then this page would allow me to reach everyone who donated, liked or shared the fund along with all those on Facebook. We are planning on a service or memorial of some sort for him in the near future but we don't have a date yet.

We have a few things to work thru or finalize first and once those are taken care of we can pick a date and plan his memorial. This will most likely be taking place in Reading, PA on a weekend where the majority of his family resides. Please note the possibility of one in Nashville at a later date hasn't been ruled out so his friends and co-workers who would like to attend but cannot travel that far would still be able to come and pay their respects.

I will be sure to send out an update with the confirmed dates as soon as they are available and they will also be posted in the local papers as well. We will try to get something confirmed as soon as possible. Thank you all again for your kind words, messages, texts, calls, etc. Your support is what has gotten us thru this extremely difficult time . It's been incredible to pull up my FB app every day and see more posts, memorial slide shows, etc for my Dad. I know my he would be extremely stunned by the continued outpour of love for him.

Some member of the forum been lucky enought to meet him in person rustyh. We had never met him in person but had conversed with him by phone in the earlier days of BFN and via skype. In more recent years we were friends on facebook.

I think we may underestimate the bonds created over the net A few members I have spoken to this week have expressed the same, its like a family member is gone. Hawkwind suggested we devide a plan on how we can be notified about the passing of forum members. I think this is a good idea, so any suggestions welcomed.

Also, if you go to member list, click on Rumpl's name and then click on "Find all posts, one can get access to every post he ever made here on BFN. I spent some time going through Rumpl's posts the last few days, it's amazing to read back on his opinions and his great sense of humour. Also the great rapport between group members.

As a newbie compared to most, I didn't personally know Rumpl but read posts from him and at times was very enlightened by him.
Life marches on.

Wow, I really don't visit the forum frequently enough. I enjoyed Rumpl's humour and sure he will take it with him on his next adventure.

Sigh.....Sad. I had the pleasure and honor of quite a few exchanges with Rump....and I've always thought of him as such a staple of this unreal and absolutely amazing community....it's sometimes scary to even wake up these days. He will be missed utterly.

Death sux Sad it's a topic I wanted to bring up in another section, perhaps because I'm approaching thirty(lol not "old" I know, and most stop caring past 65)---wow I've actually been on here ten years---and have been dealing with it in other ways....but that's self centered of me.
What I'm getting to is that I miss Rick, this forum, and a lot of you.
I see a lot of us coming out of the woodwork, almost awkwardly like a funeral.
I always hated that thing where families only get together for weddings and funerals. Fuck that!
I say we get this forum breathing again. I'm as guilty as anyone. Rick would appreciate I'm sure.
I'll try to check in more often. I don't have a laptop or desktop now so typing is a little annoying, but that will change soon...and You can enjoy my annoying typing Smile

So good to see so many familiar names. Love y'all Smile
