Evolution of Consciousness

Process of Creation

Evolutionary Science Applied to Understanding Consciousness

Not Found Here: 12-21-2012 • Galactic Alignment • End of the World • Fear • Disaster • Doomsday Prophecy
See Post "Why 2012 Is Not Mayan & Not Prophecy" to learn why 2012 has nothing to do with the Mayan people.

To understand the Mayan system of time is to understand that evolution proceeds according to the process of creation.

The waves and frequencies in all forms of energy create the framework for the process of evolution.

Dr. Carl Johan Calleman (left) & Ian Lungvold (right) worked together for many years to understand the Mayan culture and present here:

Days of Creation in the Evolution of Consciousness

Each Underworld = (6 Nights + 7 Days) = 13 Heavens

• Each Underworld evolves in harmonic resonance with lower underworlds.
• Evolution of Consciousness the pinnacle of Frame of Consciousness.
• Evolution in harmonic resonance infinite frequencies and harmonies of energy.
• Frequencies resonate with all other energies specific to each purpose for evolution of consciousness.

• The frequency (rate) of evolution increases with each new underworld or new frame of consciousness.
• Each level or Frame of Consciousness is a minimum frequency 20x faster than previous underworld.
• This is a function of our evolution of consciousness of the planet as it is the Primary Consciousness within the Frame of Consciousness.

• The 8th Underworld - Evolution of Galactic Awareness - began 1999.

Each Day & Night in Galactic = 1 Year

• The 7th Underworld - Evolution of Planetary Consciousness - began 1755 AD.

Each Day & Night in Planetary = 20 Years.

• The 6th Underworld - Evolution of National Consciousness - began 3115 BC.

Each Day & Night in National = 400 Years.

The Mayan Culture

The Mayan culture has undergone substantial changes throughout its existence. It is part of the wider context of Mesoamerican civilization that stretched from Central America into present day southern United States. This civilization was based on the cultivation of Maize and shared the Sacred 260 day calendar. It is estimated that the Maya started to cultivate Maize about 5000 years ago, around the time set for the beginning of their Long Count. It is however only at about the time of Christ that we can talk about the emergence of a high culture among the Maya.
Especially after the beginning of the so called Classical Period around AD 250 the city states of the Maya emerge in their full splendor. It is in this time, that a system of rule by shaman kings emerges in a litterate culture with an advanced calendrical system. While most visitors will look upon these sites as "ruins" they still play a role as ceremonial sites for the contemporary descendants of the ancient Maya.

The Mayan calendar is associated with nine creation cycles, which represent nine levels of consciousness or Underworlds as symbolized by the Mayan pyramids. This pyramidal structure of consciousness development can explain things as disparate as the common origin of world religions and the modern complaint that time seems to be moving faster.
Time, in fact, is speeding up as we transition from the materialist Planetary Underworld that still governs us to a new and higher frequency of consciousness, the Galactic Underworld, in preparation for the final Universal level of conscious Enlightenment.
The Mayan calendar is thus a spiritual device that enables a greater understanding of the evolution of consciousness driving human history and the concrete steps we can take to align ourselves with this cosmic evolution toward Enlightenment.

The Calendar

For simplicity, the Mayan calendar system is usually refered to as ”The Mayan Calendar”. This term then really refers to a system of interconnected calendrical cycles of the Maya. It would however also be a misunderstanding if we said that the Maya had many different calendars. Everything in the Cosmos is related and the same is true for the calendrical cycles that the Maya were using to describe its evolution and changing energies.

Hence, the various calendrical cycles of the Maya are related much as the cogs on the cogwheels in a machinery. In principle this is not very different from the Gregorian way of counting time, where not only the date in the month changes every day, but also the weekday. In the same way, as the day sign changes in the Sacred Mayan 260 day calendar, so does the number of that day and its place in the longer Heavens and Underworlds. A given day is hence defined with symbols that belong to many different calendars or counts.

What makes the Mayan calendar fundamentally different from other calendars in the existence in the world is that its various symbols are reflective of the evolution of consciousness in the cosmos. This is in contrast to calendars from other cultures or religions that are based on astronomical cycles

in our own solar system, such as the solar year or the moon cycle. It is from this that the Mayan calendar derives its immense importance at the present time as we have entered the Apocalypse and may want to understand what is happening around us.

This is not to say that the Maya completely disregarded physical cycles. For instance, they followed a so called haab calendar of 365 days which is practical for agricultural purposes even though it does not have a set starting point in the solar year. The ancient Maya were also outstanding astronomers and sought to relate the planetary cycles, such as those of Venus, Mercury and Jupiter to their sacred 260 day calendar. What we should be very much aware of however is that they did not regard the Sacred Calendar as based on any astronomical cycle. Instead the Maya were interested in how the astronomical cycles were related to the Sacred Calendar. This, they regarded as the most basic rhythm of the cosmos that had been given to them by the gods.

This may be such an unusual way of looking at time that it is difficult for most modern people to comprehend. Today, we are so focused on everything material, such as the astronomical cycles, and on measuring things that a qualitative, spiritual way of following time seems alien to most. Yet, if we are to understand the divine plan for the cosmos and our own place in this we will have to make such a fundamental shift in how we regard time.

To give you an idea of how a few of the different calendrical cycles are related to each other you may take a look at the cog wheels below.

The Mayan Calendar End Date
Many people hear about the so called end date of the Mayan calendar and today some people have even created the illusion that the Mayan calendar was designed only to point out this end date. In reality, there is nothing to indicate that the ancient Maya who developed the Long Count calendar had any interest in what would happen as this calendar came to an end. Instead what the ancient Mayan scriptures talk about is its beginning. The exact date for this beginning was apparently set based on the day of the year, August 11, when the sun was in Zenith in Izapa, where most likely this calendar first came in use. Ancient Mayan inscriptions also talk about this time as the time when the First Father erected the World Tree so that the light could enter, a significant event in creation. The various dynasties in the different Mayan city states would then try to track a relationship to this seminal event by First Father and legitimize their power based on this.

The fact that the Mayan Long Count was based on the day the sun was in Zenith in Izapa, has however created a very significant misunder-standing among modern people and this is that it would end on December 21, 2012. The particular date the sun is in Zenith in this location obviously have no relevance in the rest of the world, but because of the power of tradition some will still adhere to it. In reality, the creation cycle that began as the First Father erected the World Tree will end on October 28, 2011. This day is also 13 Ahau in the Sacred Mayan calendar, an energy with great prophetical relevance.

The Mayan Use of the Calendar

In addition to its role as a contact to the ancestors, the Maya used the calendar for celebrating significant energy shifts (see picture below). At this times the shaman kings would make prophecies about the time ahead in the new energy. A base of knowledge had been created as to how the energies would shift according to the calendar and in cobination with the shamanic connection to the world tree prophecies of relevance to the present moment and the immediate time ahead was developed. This is how I suggest that we ourselves should use the calendar based on the considerably deeper understanding we today may have to our disposal regarding its meaning. As I describe in my books we now have access to a vast amount of knowledge of cosmic history that was not available to the ancient Maya.

The aspect of the Mayan calendar system that has survived to the present time is the uninterrupted use of the Sacred Calendar of 260 days. Mayan day-keepers daily pray to the Creator and perform ceremonies that honor the day signs. Among the living Maya the 260 day calendar has various roles:

To keep track of the energies of the day.
To calculate birth energies of different individuals.
To determine the celebration of holidays.
To base healing practices on.
For prophecy and,
For divination of individual destinies.

Mayan elders will offer courses for serious adepts who want to learn about the Mayan spiritual traditions and for those interested in participating in such with Don Alejandro Oxlaj, head of the council of elders of the Maya, please contact Elizabeth Araujo at guacamaya11@yahoo.com.

The Nine Underworlds of the CosmosAccording to ancient Mayan beliefs the Cosmos was made up by Nine Underworlds. This fundamental idea was expressed very powerfully through their most important pyramids, the Pyramid of the Plumed Serpent in Chichen-Itza, the Pyramid of the Jaguar in Tikal and the Temple of the Inscriptions in Palenque, which were all built with Nine different stories.
Now where are these Nine Underworlds? the modern person may ask. Being currently unable to observe this aspect of reality people have in recent centuries for the most part tended to dismiss such ancient myths of different worlds as mere myths or fantasies. If we seek to dismiss the idea of the Nine Underworlds as a mere myth it however becomes difficult to dismiss such ancient myths of different worlds as mere myths or fantasies. If we seek to dismiss the idea of the Nine Underworlds as a mere myth it however becomes difficult to explain that the number Nine seems to have been regarded as a Holy number of fundamental importance in so many different cultures, cultures that certainly did not enjoy extensive contacts. Thus, in the Far East Nine-storied pagodas are commonly occurring, among the Jews there were Nine doors to the holiest part of the Temple and there are Nine arms of the Hanukkah candelabra. Among the Muslims the Holy month of Ramadan is the Ninth month of the year and in Viking mythology the Cosmos was described as being composed by Nine worlds. Thus people in different parts of the world all symbolically expressed the holiness of the number Nine. Maybe then there is some kind of universal truth underlying this number, some profound reason that it has independently in different cultures come to be considered as holy.
When the Christian missionaries heard about the Nine Underworlds of the Maya they interpreted these as Hells, but this seems to be way off the mark. If these were Hells, or some locations below the surface of the earth as some have inferred, why then would the Mayan kings have climbed to the top of these supposed Hells to perform sacred rituals on the pyramids. Rather than a hierarchical structure of Hells the Mayan pyramids were viewed as World Mountains - symbols of the Cosmos. And since we ourselves are living in the Cosmos it thus seems more reasonable that the Underworlds are located right here in the physical world "Below" - where we ourselves are living our lives.

Why then Nine Underworlds? Why not just one Underworld?

To answer this we need to look at the longer cycles of time described by the Maya and see how these conform to the facts and datings for key steps in Cosmic evolution provided by modern science. We should then first note that similarly to the pyramids raised by the Maya their calendrical system is also hierarchical in nature, and in the Table above there are Nine different time cycles linked to the 360-day year, the tun.

A sequence of Thirteen such time periods would then make up a creation cycle of Thirteen Heavens with the specified durations. Thus, each of the Nine Underworlds was created through a sequence of Thirteen Heavens. To exemplify, the longest of the tun-based time cycles was the hablatun of = 1.28 billion years.

Thirteen (13) hablatuns makes up a creation cycle of a total duration of 13 x 1.28 = 16.64 billion years that created the lowest, the first Underworld. This is a curious finding since this time period, 16.64 billion years, is very close to the age of the universe, 15 billion years, the time when matter first emerged from light (Big Bang)

The beginning of the creation of the First Underworld thus coincides well with the current best estimate of the beginning of Creation. This is a fact with very far-reaching consequences, since it means that all we today know to exist - all that has come into existence in the universe since the Big Bang - is included in the time span of the most basic of the creation cycles, the cycle of thirteen hablatuns, which creates the first of the Nine Underworlds. Mayan calendrics and the Mayan cosmology of Nine Underworlds and Thirteen Heavens is thus a tool for exploring all of creation!

Upon this the most basic of the Nine Underworlds, are then built eight other Underworlds each carrying and developing a special frame of consciousness for the life that it creates. In this way a hierarchical nine-leveled structure is created where lower levels of consciousness provide the foundation for new and higher levels. Each of these nine creation cycles thus gives rise to a specific Underworld and each of these Underworlds is characterised by a certain frame, or dimension, of consciousness. This frame of consciousness is then created in a series of thirteen steps, through the sequential influence of Thirteen Heavens. The beginnings of these sequences of Thirteen Heavens are marked by crucial events in cosmic evolution such as we know them from the datings of modern science, and such initiatory events are listed in the Table above.

At the present time we are beginning to enter the eighth level of consciousness of the cosmic pyramid, based on the foundation provided by the seven lower levels. This eighth level may be referred to as the galactic frame of consciousness as it will step by step lead humanity to identify primarily with the galaxy. The highest level of consciousness, the Universal, will be attained through the workings of the Ninth Underworld in the year 2011 and will result in a timeless cosmic consciousness, and a citizenship in the universe, on the part of humanity.

At the extreme left are the exact durations that the respective Underworlds have been dominating and in the second column are stated the beginnings dates of these. In the middle column are listed the phenomena that initiate the evolution of these different Underworlds and to the right of these the types, or levels, of consciousness that they serve to develop. While the evolution of the Four lower levels of consciousness are all expressed as biological evolution the Five highest levels of consciousness carry the evolution of the cultural, technological and spiritual aspects of the human being. At the present time human beings are also beginning to develop a meta-consciousness, an awareness of the evolution of consciousness, that allows her to look upon creation from a higher perspective than the "frog perspective" of everyday human life.

The Cosmic Consciousness of Universal Man as prophecised in many spiritual traditions is increasingly becoming a real possibility.

The Thirteen Heavens as a Creative Progression

Study the history, from Seed to Mature Fruit, in the perspective of:
• The History of Telecommunications
• The History of Religions
• The History of Writing

The Thirteen Tones of Evolution
The levels of consciousness developed by each Underworld are developed according to a common pattern. The Maya used to describe this by the notion that a special deity or divine force ruled each of the Thirteen Heavens of the various Underworlds and from the Aztecs we have information about what these deities were:

General scheme of the divine forces ruling the Thirteen Heavens or the Seven days and Six nights of divine creation

The interesting thing about these thirteen deities ruling the thirteen heavens is that if we look at every other deity, the seven with odd-numbers above, we find that they are forces that nurture the development of a seed. Thus, a seed that is planted during the rule of the god of procreation (First Heaven) receives some light through the god of sunrise (Third Heaven) and water by the gods of watering and rain (Fifth and Seventh Heavens) and some further light by the god of fire (Ninth Heaven) until it turns into a flower (Eleventh Heaven) and finally matures as a fruit under the rule of the Thirteenth Heaven.

The History of the Telecommunications

How this divine process of creation plays out in reality may be illustrated by examples from any of the Nine Underworlds, but a clear and currently relevant example is that of the development of the telecommunications which have been developed by the Thirteen Heavens of the Planetary Underworld. The Thirteen Heavens are upheld by the sequence of thirteen katuns that started in 1755 and develop a planetary frame of consciousness. If we focus here only on the seven pulses from seed to mature fruit the history of the telecommunications looks like this:

The Development of the Telecommunications
Above we may see that the planetary consciousness carried by the creation cycle of thirteen katuns, starting in 1755, pulse by pulse has stimulated the human beings in resonance with it to develop more and more advanced telecommunications. This creation cycle started with a mere seed - as the first ideas of making a telegraph were conceived - as the god of procreation ruled in the mid-18th century. Through the influence of the different energies of the different Heavens this seed has then developed into the mature fruit of the World Wide Web of the Internet in the beginning of the Thirteenth Heaven (as the god of highest manifestation, the dual Creator god, ruled). As an aside, the reader may note that the period 1932-1952 (Great Depression, Hitlerism, Stalinism, World War II and the Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs) which totally destroyed the previous world of national borders, was ruled by the Lord of darkness, Tezcatlipoca.

Since the strongest creative pulses, displaying the most important steps forward in consciousness, appear during the Seven odd-numbered Heavens we may safely assume that this is what has given rise to the holiness of the number Seven. These Seven steps of creation described by the Mayan calendar (in any of the Underworlds, not just the Planetary) are identical with the Seven DAYS of divine creation (interspersed by six NIGHTS) described in the Book of Genesis and reiterated in the Book of Revelation. This is what unifies the science of the Maya with the religious traditions of the Old World: the Thirteen Heavens of the Maya are identical with the Seven DAYS and six NIGHTS of God's creation in the Jewish, Christian and Moslem traditions. It is also what unifies the calendrical system of the Maya with modern science as the changing energies of the different time cycles may be linked to specific, tangible manifestations, here exemplified by the evolutionary progression of different means of telecommunications.

All phenomena that undergo evolution are subject to the same basic pattern from seed to mature fruit effected by the Seven days and Six nights. It is important to realize that the durations of the Thirteen Heavens, or the Seven DAYS and Six NIGHTS of creation vary depending on what Underworld they are operating in. In the Sixth Underworld developing the national frame of consciousness the Thirteen Heavens develop religions, writing, monarchy, technology etc, according to a baktun based rhythm of about 400 years, whereas in the Seventh Underworld they develop telecommunications, science, art, atheism, banking etc. according to a katun-based rhythm of about 20 years. The galaxies of the universe develop according to the same basic pattern, Seven DAYS and Six NIGHTS, but with a much longer hablatun-pattern.

The fact that all evolutionary processes in the Cosmos adhere to the same basic patterns of Thirteen Heavens, Seven DAYS and Six NIGHTS, creates overtones of a much higher frequency with the same pattern. Thus the thirteen-day cycle or the thirteen uinals of the tzolkin are subjects to the same basic pattern. These considerably shorter creation cycles are like ripples on the surface of the long processes of creation of the Major Underworlds, that we have only seen a few examples of here.

The most important example of the Seven DAYS and Six NIGHTS of creation is however the 13-tun Galactic creation cycle that is currently serving to expand the frame of human consciousness from a planetary to a galactic during the period January 5, 1999 to October 28, 2011 in the Gregorian calendar. A complete overview of this is available in calendar form.

The Development of the Historical Religions of Humanity

At the most profound level the evolution of the historical religions of humanity has been propelled by the various energies that have been dominating the Thirteen Heavens, the thirteen baktuns, of the Long Count. This is very clearly seen if we study the evolution of the Caldean-Jewish-Christian tradition from its early origin in the worship of the creator god Anu in Sumeria to the establishment of Protestant Christianity in 17th century Europe and North America. Also the other historical religions of humanity are profoundly conditioned by the inspiration given by the Seven DAYS of divine creation, but for simplicity a discussion of these have been omitted here.

The Judean-Christian line of Religiosity
For a full discussion of this development I need to refer to my coming books, but a few crucial facets may be highlighted here. As a result of the influence of the Thirteen Heavens the Judean-Christian line of religiosity has manifested in at least three clear evolutionary trends:

1. From polytheism to monotheism.
Early (baktun 0, god of fire and time) in the Long Count cycle, developing the national frame of consciousness, the belief in a highest creator god was not a monotheist creed. Among the Sumerians, Anu, who was regarded as the supreme creator god of Heaven, was for instance not the only god worshipped in this cradle of civilization. The Sumerians worshipped a high number of nature gods, house gods, harvest gods, etc. etc. and a consequent monotheist creed only emerged with Moses in baktun 4 (goddess of Love and Childbirth). Through the action of the later pulses of divine light provided by the even-numbered baktuns of the National Cycle, polytheism vanishes from this line of religiosity (and incidentally from most other religious traditions as well).

2. From a local to a universal view of God.

Early in the cycle (baktun 0, god of Fire and Time) each country, or even each town or village, had its own god or gods believed to protect only the particular region in question. Although with Moses (baktun 4) a true monotheist creed first emerges this still retained an exclusive character for the Jewish people. It is thus only with the Great Jewish Prophets, and the prophet Isaiah in particular, at the very beginning of baktun 6 (god of Flowers) that the notion is presented that the One God is common to all of humanity. A step is then taken in the direction of worshipping a universal God, common to all of humanity. A further step in this direction is taken at the very beginning of baktun 8 (Quetzalcoatl, Lord of the Light) with the emergence of Christianity, which becomes a proselytizing religion seeking to embrace all of humanity, and at the beginning of baktun 10 (goddess of Birth) the Papacy emerges as a power standing above particular national interests in Europe.

3. From an immanent to a transcendental view of God.
Early in the cycle physical objects were seen as animated by various gods, and even later, as the monotheist views came to be dominating, God was often seen as intervening in creation in a more physical form and physical objects were still worshipped. In this we may also find the background to the difference between the Catholic religiosity which had its peak during baktun 10 (goddess of Birth) and the Protestant religiosity which was finally established and began to be spread to North America at the beginning of baktun 12 (dual Creator god). In the Catholic faith relics from saints are still worshipped and in the Holy Communion it is believed that the wine is truly the blood of Jesus. Physical objects were thus worshipped as manifestations of an immanent God, whereas the emphasis of the Protestants was much less on worshipping objects (The Calvinians for instance have only very sparsely decorated churches) but rather on directly relating to God in the beyond (transcendental aspect).

The History of Writing

Developments of means of communication typically very clearly adhere to the Seven DAYS of creation in any of the Underworlds. This is true not only for the development of writing during the National Cycle, but also of the telecommunications during the Planetary Cycle and will be true for the IT revolution during the Galactic Cycle as well. This is because the development of the means of communication is very directly linked to the evolution of consciousness, and to consciousness of time in particular. To the Maya writing was considered as a gift of the gods, and indeed, we may see in the table below that the Seven pulses of divine creation have inspired humanity to implement more effective means of written communication.

The Development of Writing
Why then is writing linked to the evolution of consciousness in such a way that it clearly follows the evolutionary progression from seed to mature fruit? This may be understood in the following way: Writing to a large extent has been developed in response to a need to "preserve" information through time. To preserve information is by no means to be taken as a given and ice age people, living before the onset of the National Cycle shown in the Table above, saw no need to do so, the reason being that evolutionary change in their societies was so slow that preservation seemed irrelevant. With the beginning of the baktun-based National Cycle, change in human society however began to take place at such a high frequency that "preservation" became a necessity in many contexts. Thus writing is ultimately a function of the higher frequency of consciousness change carried by the National Cycle. In this way we may realize that writing was not just some kind of technical invention, but a reflection of an increased frequency of the divine process of creation.

Hey Drew -

Nice work exploring this balderdash. (I love that word.)

Currently, I'm of the opinion that most of what we know about the 'ancient' Mayan civilization is completely fabricated by Renaissance era scholars to condition the American immigrant as to the timelessness principles of 'Western Culture', namely, money and war, and and to show that 'ancient' rulers were bigger assholes than today, so stop complaining already.

Makes perfect sense to me why the Mayans would be chosen as the source of this 2012 end of time hoax.

Timewave zero.... pffft.

Then again, What the Bleep do I know anyway?
Ramtha would consider me rather misguided. Wink

Digging your 2012 research, thanks.

Keep in mind, this was written last july 2006.

The current situation
We are now approaching the Fifth day, beginning on November 24, 2006, and the ensuing energies of Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca of the Galactic Underworld. These energies are likely to generate the chaos from which the new world of oneness will be born as we come to the completion of all the Underworlds by October 28, 2011. As I wrote in the article posted on my web site in November of last year, the first half of the Fourth night, November 29, 2005, to May 27, 2006, would be a relatively uneventful time that would be well suited for integration of what had happened in the preceding Fourth day. For the second half of this night, May 28 to November 24, 2006, the time period that we are in now, I however forecasted that new events would be occurring that prepared for the change that would be brought by the Breakthrough energy of the Fifth day. Using comparisons I pointed to the example, among others, of how the Russian revolution of 1905, shortly after the midpoint of the Fourth night of the Planetary Underworld, heralded the fall of the autocratic empires (including the Russian) that came about as a result of World War I after the Breakthrough energy of Quetzalcoatl set in in this Underworld in 1913.

In our current Galactic Underworld, we are now at a time corresponding to 1905-1906 in the Planetary Underworld, and it seems obvious that the relatively calm time for integration is over. Instead, in the past few weeks we have witnessed things that very likely herald the tumultuous era that will follow as the breakthrough energy sets in with the Fifth day. I feel I have been very accurate in forecasting this basic rhythm of the evolution of the current year and you may take note that this would not have been possible without using a correct end date, October 28, 2011. I would like to add here that the Mayan calendar does not say that in a certain time period this or that will happen in concrete terms. What we have in order to help us predict the future are Underworlds - predetermined sequences of energies that play out according to exact schedules. However, the predictions are conditioned by the intuition and background of the person who makes them. Thus, I recommend that you evaluate the reliability of predictions said to be based on the Mayan calendar by seeing how accurate the person making them has been in the past. Those who claim that the Mayan calendar ends December 21, 2012, however usually do not even put themselves to the test. What prophetic value does the Mayan calendar then have?

As signs of the intensification of the course of events the past week or so we have thus seen a tsunami, a report of a record number of killings in Iraq, a resurgence of Taliban fighting, missile tests in North Korea, bombings in Mumbai, a record oil price, and a G-8 meeting in St Petersburg pointing to the return of Russia as a major power. Above all, however, Israel has attacked Lebanon, to destroy bases of the Hizbollah, a Muslim group supported by Syria and especially Iran. As I have said in my books the Galactic Underworld is the Apocalypse and there is little reason to expect its course of events to be smooth or unproblematic. It is virtually impossible to imagine a step-by-step process from the present world to oneness.

As we approach the Fifth day of the Galactic Underworld, it then obviously becomes very important to understand the role of Israel. Why, we may wonder, does this country play such a significant role to some of the world religions? Why do the Jews see themselves as a people chosen by God and why do also Christians say that things begin and end with Israel? Why is the Muslim negativity towards Israel so strong and why is Israel so adverse to compromises?

I think a big part of the explanation to this special role of Israel is that many very significant things in human evolution actually did have their origin there. Southwest Asia, including what is today Israel, was where the highest number of domesticable plants and animals existed that allowed humans early on to make the transition to agriculture and a settled life already about 10,000 years ago. Hence, people in this area had a tremendous head start in their cultural development and so it was for instance here that the alphabet was invented as a result of the pulse favoring the left brain in the Third day of the National Underworld. The alphabet, which is the first truly effective form of writing used by humans, was invented by the Jews and the Torah, their holy scripture, is the first book written by means of this, expressing the first monotheist creed of the planet. An enormous emphasis was placed on the written Word that was perceived as an exclusive message from God that was unchangeable. Writing and the concomitant monotheist creed brought about a significant shift in mentality and, since this was not immediately shared by the neighbors, a perception was created by the Jews that they were a people chosen by God.

When the Fifth day of the National Underworld began, the Christian religion then had its origin in Israel. The majority of the Jews were however not attracted to this new religion, and following the destruction of the Temple in AD 70, they were dispersed from their country essentially in the Western direction. From the perspective of the Mayan calendar, one might speculate that this latter historical event was actually propelled by the marked left-brain abstract thinking of the Jews to which the West was more conducive. Regardless, their contributions to Western culture, and economic clout, have been disproportionately high, presumably because of the mentioned head start they had had into abstract left-brain thinking.

Also the Quran, consecrated at the midpoint of the Fifth night in AD 632, traces an origin to Abraham and talks extensively about the Jews, whose prophets Moses and Jesus, it acknowledges as such. Yet, similarly to how the Christian church has considered the New Testament as more important than the Old, the Muslims regard the Quran as an all-encompassing supreme message from God.

Following a two-thousand-year Diaspora the state of Israel was then declared in 1948 thus fulfilling an age-old prophecy of the Jews. This was based on the United Nations partition plan for the British mandate of Palestine made in 1947 as the Fourth World of the Planetary Underworld began. In a broad sense, the beginning of this Fourth World was what set the stage for the Galactic Underworld that we are in now and, ever since then, the area has been an area of contention with the neighboring Muslims.

End-time scenarios

Hence, while Jews have been praying three times a day for two thousand years for the restoration of the Temple in Jerusalem, the time has not yet been considered as ready for this. The main reason is that the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is occupied by the Muslim al-Aksa Mosque and this religion is guided by quite different prophecies, and another written Word, the Quran. The Jews fear that if a Temple would be built there it would create a Jihad from the entire Muslim world. To Muslims, who see the Quran as the last message from God and envision that the whole world will eventually be Muslim, it is instead a dictum that all land held by Islam should be kept and that land lost to it should be recovered. Hence, the prophecies of the two religions are in direct conflict.

Fundamentalist Christians, especially in the United States, are not indifferent to this conflict and in fact see the scenario playing out as verifying their own prophecies, which is part of the reason for the strong US backing of Israel. These groups expect the Jews to rebuild the temple following which there will be great tribulations that will lead the Jews to accept Jesus as the Messiah. The Muslims on their part expect the appearance of the twelfth imam, Mahdi, as a savior, as well as the return of Jesus, who will then lead the Christians to submit to Islam.

It would take a specialist to describe the various prophecies of Jews, Muslims, and Christians and their different interpretations in detail. However, they all seem to include an end-time scenario with a final battle (Armaggedon is the town of Megiddo in northern Israel, not very far from either Lebanon or Syria), an Antichrist (who in the Muslim variety is called Dajjal) and a Messiah (or returning Christ), who will rule for different time periods and set their marks on them. In the Christian Revelation this ends with the New Jerusalem, where there is no pain and no sorrow and the past will no longer be. Although the Mayan prophecies obviously do not describe a specific scenario for this part of the world, the Mayan calendar is based on energies such as that of Quetzalcoatl (god of light in the Fifth day) and Tezcatlipoca (god of darkness in Fifth night), which would be favorable to exactly such forces that the Abrahamitic religions prophesize about. In fact, in the time ahead the calendrical energies of the Galactic Underworld probably provide our best guide to know who will represent the future of oneness and who will not.

Based on the ruling energies of time -and parallels to lower Underworlds- we may then expect a scenario somewhat like the following: In the first half of the Fifth day (November 24, 2006 - May 22, 2007) there will be intensified conflicts between the monotheist religions, and especially between Judaism and Islam, where both will seek to have their own prophecies fulfilled. At the same time a minor flow towards oneness will emerge, a flow of people that is the most direct expression of the breakthrough energy and seek to transcend the conflicts between scriptures. Toward the end of this first half, however, the parties in the conflict will get stuck (possibly as a result of disaster) and a messianic energy that does not belong to any of the existing religions will have a chance to be expressed in the second half of day 5, from May 22 to November 19, 2007. This will have global repercussions, but will be followed during the Fifth night, November 19, 2007, to November 12, 2008, by the energy of Tezcatlipoca, the lord of darkness. Especially the first half of this rule may well correspond to what in Revelation language is called the Beast or Antichrist and will mean a return to the materialism of the Planetary Underworld, maybe based on the development of a new monetary system and electronic control on a world-wide scale. In the second half of this night (beginning May 17, 2008) we will probably see a loosening of the grip of this reaction, which leads into a wave movement that from our current perspective may best be described as a chaos of divinely guided anarchy lasting for three-and-a-half tun, 1260 days. This time period is also mentioned in the Bible that recognizes the Mayan tun period of 360 days as a prophetic year.

Going back to the present, what I feel we have reasons to expect as the energy of the Fifth day enters in November of this year is then that followers of each of these religions will be propelled to see their own prophecies fulfilled and actively strive for this. After all, we are living in the Apocalypse and as this pulse begins all the religious people in the area will be affected and most will act according to what their scriptures seem to be telling them to do. In the changing tides of this wave movement, the three Abrahamitic religions will identify different persons and forces as messianic or diabolic depending on their own particular prophetic traditions. While this may not be much discussed in the media with its focus on superficial events, it nevertheless provides an undercurrent that plays a decisive role for the course of events in the Middle East. Thus, I do not look upon the current fighting between Israel and Hizbollah as a temporary skirmish, but rather as a prelude to a larger drama during the Fifth day that will include also some more powerful Muslim countries.

While much of the world would like to see a two-state solution in Israel/Palestine, the implementation of this has repeatedly been thwarted, essentially as it leaves the religious prophecies of both parties unfulfilled. In reality, such a two-state solution would be implemented as a form of religiously based apartheid and this points to a strange inconsistency in how the world community thinks. While it rightly condemns theories of racial superiority, it seems to have accepted that the two religions primarily involved in the area base their political agendas on their respective claims to religious supremacy. I am not advocating the abolishment of the religions as such any more than the abolishment of the races. Nor am I saying that religions have no value, but why does the world community accept claims by any of them that their teaching would make them superior to adherents of other religions? Why do we consider as holy such scriptures that promote ideals of their own supremacy? Why is it that so many people accept as legitimate the thoughts of religious superiority present in the Torah, the Bible, and the Quran that are mostly fully explicit? We do not even have a word for ideologies based on religious superiority that would be an appropriate parallel to the word "racism" and so fail to grasp the reality of this phenomenon. While today the term terrorism is widely used it is not the root cause of the problem, since the terrorist activities are not ends in themselves, but means of asserting religious supremacy. What we need is a term such as "religionism", as a parallel to racism, that applies to any religion that seeks to assert its own supremacy. The world has come a long way in dispelling ideologies of racial superiority, but has hardly begun to dispel those of religious superiority. Hence, administrative decisions as to how to carve up the land between Israel and Palestine will never generate a true and heartfelt peace as long as the "religionism" of the parties involved is not transcended.

The majority of humanity is still basing its relationship to the divine on books, seen as holy scriptures, rather than on a direct experience of the divine presence. For the followers of such books, the need to see their prophecies fulfilled takes on an added importance as giving proof of the existence of God and the preeminence of one’s own religion. Holy scriptures were created in the National Underworld as human beings became partially separated from the direct experience of the divine and in a sense they have also served as a replacement for this experience, and this is the root of "religionism".

Thus, people will react to the breakthrough pulse of the Fifth day depending on where they are coming from and what religious context they form part of. It is realistic to expect that many unresolved conflicts of the world will come to surface then, and this is especially true for those areas of the planet which have the longest history of dualist left-brain dominance such as the Middle East. It should be pointed out here that Islam, even though it has spread predominantly in the Eastern hemisphere, is as much of a dualist left-brain religion as the Jewish. Its strong left-brain character is obvious in that, like Judaism, it bans pictures and sculptures from the Mosques as being idolatry. Both religions in other words try to curb the use of the right-brain half that sees images or visions, expresses the feminine and uses intuition. In the fundamentalist varieties of these religions, the contact with the divine should not be based on experience, but exclusively on the written Word of their scriptures. It is exactly this dualist relationship to God that fosters attitudes of religious supremacy. Thus, the right-brain pulse of the Fifth day of the Galactic Underworld may come to shake the balance of both these left-brain religions and very possibly many will react defensively.

On a global scale, however, this pulse will weaken the power of the West and hence of Israel. If we add to this that the days are the periods that seem to be hit the hardest by natural catastrophes and that the US dollar likely will dramatically fall as the Fifth day begins, then we have every reason to expect that its upcoming energy will create fundamentally altered relationships in the world. It is entirely possible that, like the Fifth day of the Planetary Underworld (that brought World War I), the Fifth day of the Galactic will bring a catastrophe to the Middle East and that only as people recognize the dimensions of this will an opening to a path towards oneness be created.

Energy that unifies the light

What the Mayan calendar tells us, however, is that the cosmic plan is not for the world to come to an end. Besides, even if its energies will favor certain general trends and alterations of relationships, human beings have a choice as to how to respond to these, which may influence the course of events for the better or for the worse. In fact, even if we have reasons to believe that the majority in the Middle East engages in a battle along the old front lines defined by the dualist religions, there will also emerge expressions of the unification of the left- and right-brain mentalities that would be truly messianic as it provides a path towards oneness. The reason we may expect this is that the Galactic Underworld favors the right-brain half and this change in the global field helps to make the minds of people whole. Even though such a spiritual wholeness, unfettered by scriptures of supremacy, may already exist in a minority in the region, it will also grow throughout the time period ruled by the energy of Quetzalcoatl and become especially visible in its second half. It will not be favoring any of the existing patriarchal religions in the area, but will be one that seeks to transcend the influence of scriptures that call for supremacy. It will be a movement that see all human beings as equal in the eyes of God and recognizes that the separation between them is generated by the religions created by the human beings. It is an expression of people who realize that to God all of humanity is His /Her children and does not favor any particular religion over the others.

The New Jerusalem

I believe that the beginning of a true peace process must start exactly with such a realization. No administrative measures that any party would grudgingly accept would lead to a real peace. The only way true and heartfelt peace could come about in this area is if groups of people there and elsewhere truly give up all claims to religious superiority or callings to subordinate those of other religions. It is possible that such an insight will come only as a reaction to a disastrous war, but it will come. Of course, if the Muslims invited the Jews to share the Temple Mount to build a temple there and share it also with a Christian church, then this would be peace. If the Jews truly invited the Palestinians to share the area that they now control, and even gave up the claim to a separate Jewish state, then there would be peace. I feel in the eyes of God the religion that He/She would love the most is the one that gives up its claim to exclusivity, since this would pave the way for peace also everywhere. The truly spiritual people in the area are the ones that will seek to transcend the limitations of the scriptures, Torah, Bible, and Quran, which to a large extent have been used to legitimize superiority. The truly spiritual people in the area are the ones that realize that in the Galactic Underworld national and religious borders are of the past and must be transcended. Maybe the real calling of Israel, and the reason that a conflict has arisen there again involving some of the world’s largest religions, is that the balancing of the left brain dominance must begin exactly where it first emerged. Maybe God’s calling for Israel/Palestine is that it should be a land where all religions belong, and the place where these, under the influence of the consciousness field of the Galactic Underworld, were able to transcend their differences. Only such a multireligious presence in the area would pave the way to a New Jerusalem. In fact, when it is heartfelt it would be the New Jerusalem. This would be to join the alpha and the omega and would mean the return to Eden on a new and higher level.

Obviously, some would say that this perspective is utterly naive, but then again has anyone ever really been attempted to put it into practice? Billions of people have prayed for the victory of their own religion in Israel, but how many have prayed or wished that no religion should be victorious and in fact that the ancient scriptures should be transcended? So I think people everywhere should start by asking themselves if they really would like to see a transformation of Israel/Palestine into a multireligious country or not. Undoubtedly the biggest challenge is for those who live in the area, but since the current situation is threatening the peace of the rest of the world, people in other areas also have a right to work towards solving the conflict. Since more than half of the population on Earth belong to the Abrahamitic religions or at least their contexts, many people also outside of the area have a direct opportunity to participate in the creation of a deeper peace. We have the right to have our own visions regardless of whether they fit into the supremacy schemes of these religions. Hence, while Jerusalem may be a focus of conflict it also poses an opportunity because, in as much as the rest of the world can contribute to peace here, it can contribute to a lasting peace everywhere.

The task may seem monumental, but so did once the task of combating racism. I should also say that I think it may be too general to simply pray for peace. We need to be more specific and pray for concrete expressions of tearing down the walls between the scripture-based religions. A possible thing is to pray for a Mosque, a Church, and a Temple to share the Temple Mount. A possible thing is to pray that no religion in the area will come out as victorious against the others. In many, the reaction to this very thought will reveal a dualist mentality in ourselves, and so it becomes obvious that we are ourselves part of the problem that has created the conflict in the Middle East. Hence follows the importance of developing spiritual practices and tools, such as dikshas and meditations, that help ourselves to be part of the evolution towards oneness that the global creation field of the Galactic Underworld increasingly will favor. Since more than half the population of the planet have a background in the Abrahamitic religions any enlightening experiences may be very significant for preparing the messianic path to oneness.

Hence, individual transformation towards oneness is part of creating peace in the external world, and no one needs to be a bystander. In fact, the most dangerous enemy may be the defeatism in ourselves. The Breakthrough celebration will continue throughout the Ahau days of the Mayan calendar with different events and may be a very significant resource for those who want to develop a path to peace.

Thank you for the post, Drew. Great stuff from Calleman and Lundgold.

Excerpts from Michael C Brown's "The Presence Process".

Excerpt One

The mental condition of “living in time”, of relentlessly running from yesterday and of frantically chasing tomorrow without rest or peace, is the predicament that The Presence Process addresses and soothes. By assisting us to understand how we individually arrived in this predicament, it simultaneously gives us the methodical procedure and perceptual tools that empower us to begin finding our way out of this illusion. It throws a rope of awareness to us and empowers us to pull ourselves out of the pit of our distractions with the past and the future so that we may return to the only ground that is solid, safe, and peaceful: the present moment. The Presence Process accomplishes this by bringing awareness to the authentic Presence that we really are in a way that encourages us to consciously begin dismantling the inauthentic pretence that we made to shield ourselves from our fear, anger, and grief. It demonstrates that the only way we can authentically change our world experience is by liberating ourselves from the perceptual virus of time and that liberating ourselves from this mental disease is therefore the greatest act of service we can perform right now.

We are not the experiences that we manufactured to feel safe and accepted in this world. And no matter what the future may promise, the only moment that can be real for us has nothing to do with yesterday or what may happen tomorrow. While we continue to react unconsciously to the events of our life, we are not even seeing what is right in front of us; we are in a mentally-driven nightmare, recoiling from ghosts of the past and projected phantoms from the future. This is no way to live. This is not life. What life really is cannot enter time. This time-based experience is a perceptual hell guarded by the bars of our unresolved fear, anger, and grief. It does not take us anywhere; it never did, and it never will. In time, nothing happens, we only think it does.

Excerpt Two

Present moment awareness is not a concept; it is an experience. It is an effortless way of Being that is the birthright of every human in this world. Entering it now is an inevitable consequence of our accelerating evolution. Its invitation is here, now, for all willing to receive its blessings. It calls to every one of us in a silent voice that says, “Stop! There is nowhere to go and nothing to do, but there is everything to be.” This is the invitation, this is the journey, and this is the gift The Presence Process makes possible.

So what is present moment awareness? It is a state of Being in which we effortlessly integrate the authentic and Divine Presence that we are with each God-given moment that we are in so that we are able to respond consciously to every experience we are having. By accomplishing this, our response is always the same: gratitude – a flow of gratitude that washes us of all our illusions. Entering such a state may sound hard and complicated when we are living in time. It is, however, effortless and completely natural because present moment awareness is our birthright. It is the kingdom of awareness through whose gates the prodigal children return. The hard part has been attempting to find what we did not know we had lost. The best part is realizing that we have been looking for something that has already found us.

Excerpt Three

The Presence Process is not about changing who or what we are. This is impossible. Instead, it is about releasing our attachment to our manufactured identity so that we may gently return to an awareness of our authentic Presence. It is about moving from pretence to Presence. It is about consciously connecting with that aspect of our Being that always remains constant. It is about honoring that aspect of our Being that is always present. It is not about becoming something or somebody else. It is about remembering and experiencing who and what we really are and have always been.

The Presence Process is not about changing the nature of what the stars have marked on our forehead, hands, and feet. It is about waking into the fullest potential of each moment that is already destined. It is about responding to our life as it is unfolding right now and not reacting to it as if something else was supposed to be happening. The Presence Process intends to reveal to us that our mistaken desire to change what is happening to us in any given moment is usually born out of an inability to show up and fully enjoy the wonder of our life experience as it is right now.

The Presence Process awakens within us the awareness that it is in the nature of our interaction with what is happening to us right now that we sow the seeds for what is to come beyond the borders of this life experience. It assists us to see that the quality of the seeds that we sow in any given moment is very different depending on whether we choose to react or to respond to our experiences. Reacting to our experience means that we are making our decisions based on what we think happened to us yesterday and what we think may happen to us tomorrow. We are only responding to our experience when we make choices based on what is happening to us right here, right now. It is only possible to respond to our experiences when we unlearn the behaviors and belief systems that lead us into reaction. This “unlearning” is what The Presence Process assists us to accomplish.

There are no failures in The Presence Process, as it is an individual journey driven by commitment, curiosity, and intention. It cannot be experienced for someone else or because of someone else. Activating present moment awareness is an individual responsibility. It is therefore an experience that is by nature immune to comparison or judgment.

The Presence Process is not an end to anything; it is the continuation of a lifelong journey that we have already been making into the heart of our own present moment awareness.

PostPosted: Sat Feb 03, 2007 9:34 pm    Post subject: Overview Of Relilgious Evolution - Mayan Calendar In History Reply with quote

by Ian Xel Lungold

Most people knowledgeable in the field of the Mayan calendar understand the Mayan Calendar as a system of an indigenous people’s astronomy/astrology, divination and prophecy.

The Mayan sacred books of astronomy and prophecy are painted on pages of processed bark of the Amate tree. Many thousands of these books, called codices, were burned during the early 15th century by Catholic priests. Much knowledge was lost, which is the first step in cultural annihilation. Maya Priests were pushed far into hiding. They could only practice their culture in the most remote areas of Central America. Those who were caught were murdered.

This practice continued up to the late 1980’ s.

The Maya knew this 500+ year period of horror and devastation was coming.

It was written in their prophecy over 2000 years earlier...

Dr. Carl J. Calleman PhD is a biochemical scientist from Sweden; he has for 30 years worked in labs performing microbiology experiments. Most of his work was investigating how pollution causes disease to proliferate. 8 years ago he trained his attention on the Mayan calendar to see what correlations or sets of facts could be proven, not just “studied” as the archeologists have done. What he uncovered with his new found “hobby” is quickly changing the world and the way we live with it.

For Dr Calleman, has scientifically proven the Schedule of Creation and Evolution over the last 16.4 Billion years.

Mr. Ian Lungold entered the scene for his discovery of a simple formula to find any day on the Mayan calendar from the Gregorian calendar. There-by providing access to every man, woman and child on Earth to the Mayan calendar.

What makes this information vitally important for you, each person reading this right now?

Well, believe it or not, we have a prize you have already won!

First Prize!

We have a road map of time and place throughout history.

• A road map is not a crystal ball, you don’t know just what will happen when you get to a destination.

• But knowing where you are going and seeing the landmarks along the way, is very reassuring.

• If you’ve been to a place before, you can prepare for the circumstances you will find there.

• If you were going to Paris for example, you’d need French francs and some French phrases.

• This Creation pattern has repeated 7 times before and so we have, or at least consciousness has, been through all of this before.

The actual pattern of Creation described by the Mayan calendar looks like a pyramid with 9 levels. Immensely long periods of time with shorter and shorter periods stacked on top. Or even more accurately, as a set of nestled vessels, each of them 20 times smaller than the last.

Due to population growth, each of 9 Creation cycles runs thru in time measured as 20 x less than previous cycle.

Each of these cycles is further ÷ into 13 equal sections of time.

Each = Aspect / Intention of Creation.

There are 7 sections of day and 6 sections of night to each level. The Sumerian, and Mesopotamians wrote this same pattern in clay tablets as their understanding of Creation.

The Ancient Vedic texts, that are the basis of Buddhism, Hinduism, Sufism and Taoism have the same understanding of 9 levels with 13 Heavens (6 Days & 7 Nights a metaphorical 'week') each.

Our own Bible, states that there were 7 days to Creation in the book of Genesis (but did not mention 'nights' only 'days');

9 Evolutionary Worlds - Under Which Each

Evolves thru 13 Heavens

6 Days & 7 Nights Divine Creation

Day One: is a period of “Light” or an opportunity for the growth of consciousness. It is the inception, a planting of seed, a new beginning or impetus to change or flow in a new direction. New perceptions become available.

Night One: is a period of “Night” or the opportunity to apply the enlightenment just received from Creation’s flow. This would be the germination of the seed planted in the dark soil or the developments of new points of view.

Day Two: is another period of “Light” when duality is put on display. In nature, a seed sprouts up out of the ground and displays two leaves. The essential duality is always a new viewpoint that is overriding the ”old” consciousness.

As it has come down in human history, this has always been a time of civil turmoil.

Night Two: is a period of “Dark” when polarized factions come to blows over their differences. Indeed these periods in human history are peaks of violence.

(We are in the 2nd Night of the Galactic cycle from Dec 19th 2001 – Dec 14th 2002)

Day Three: is another period of “Light.” In nature this is the development of a root system and the second set of leaves that will be a permanent part of the plant.

It is the establishment of the new consciousness as viable. In human history during this section lies or failed systems are disclosed so that progress is not blocked.

(Hold on to your hat as the truths pour forth from mid 2002 through most of 2003)

Night Three: is another period of “Dark” The seedling set of leaves are dropped from the plant as another set of leaves spring from the top. These are at 90 degrees from the last set. In human history failed systems have been jettisoned, usually by force, during this section.

Day Four: another period of “Light” In a plants life, the tap root grows deep to firmly attach the plant while the stock thickens and branches form.

It is a period of expansion of the foundations laid. In human history the “New” point of view and way of doing things takes dominance. For instance the empire of Greece was built during this section.

Night Four: is a period of “Dark” once again or the application of new procedures. During this time a plant is multiplying its leaves and root system like mad. In human history it has usually been a period of rebuilding and a time of healing.

Day Five: here is a period of “Light.” In fact the brightest period of “light in the entire cycle. In a plants life this is when new chemicals are produced that carry the message to form buds. In human history, it was this section when Art was invented, the message of Jesus moved over the earth, Mr. Einstein discovered the theory of relativity and America with the victory of WWI rose to world power.

Night Five: another period of “Dark,” in fact, the darkest period of each cycle. In a plant’s life this is the growth of the bud. In your life it was puberty.

In human history this has been a time of great physical hardship or major conflicts. The Illonian Ice Age, Neanderthals going extinct, Rome falling and WWII are glaring examples.

Day Six: again we are in a period of “Enlightenment.” This is the time of flowers for the plant. For you it was adolescence. In human history this was the creation of 1st tools, the 1st attempts at agriculture and constructed shelter, the renaissance and most recently, the flower children movement of the sixties.

Night Six: one last period of “Dark” in the cycle happens now. In the plant’s life the flowers wilt and die setting the stage for fruit development or of seedpods that will dry. This is what happened to the Maya civilization right on queue. Throughout human history there have been conflicts and revolts during this period, most recent of these having been the Viet Nam war.

Day Seven: a period of “Light” once again, a time of readiness for something new and different. A time of ascension, going from one level to the next higher level. The plant spreads the seeds or drops the fruit to begin again a thousand times over. In human history it was during these repeating sections that consciousness developed Homo Sapiens, agriculture and domesticated herds, signed treaties to establish the sovereignty of nations and their people and put up the Internet creating a planetary consciousness in 1992.

This pattern of Creation, an action plan, can be seen happening everywhere in the universe from sub-atomic particles to galaxies over and over.

Notice that we go from a “Light” section directly to another new “Light section.

The deck is stacked. Creation is on our side and always has been.

This pattern does have an acceleration built into it. Each cycle of Creation contains the same amount of advancement and change but each cycle runs 20 times faster. The same amount of change that happened in 1.26 billion years of the Cellular cycle now occurs in 360 days as can be seen on the chart below and in the news on TV.

The (13x20) = 260 Tun/Day Tzolkin is composed of the two (13x20) wheels you see here.

• There is another system that used 18x20=360 Uinal / Days and on which is based the Long Count calendar that runs in 360 day long cycles - NOT the 365.25 day Haab Agricultural calendar.

• On the Tzolkin (13 x 20 = 260) Days are "Tun"

• On the Long Count (18 x 20 = 360) Days are "Uinal"

• Each Tun of 260 have specific energies unique to that day;

• None of the 260 are alike - they each have specific features.

• On the Long Count, the "Uinal" are are the same 'energy' for each Uinal Day.

• The Day itself is different, but that is an ASPECT not paid attention on this count.

• Think of the "Uinal" days as simply the day to day sunshine - some are better than others, but at the end of the year the food is grown - so long as other ASPECTS are paid ATTENTION.

The Uinal Day energy are different than the Tun Day energy as they each track different ASPECTS of INTENTIONS as symbolized by the combinations of energy on each day.

• This is a very important theme that will be recurring throughout the Mayan calendar system.

This chart does in no way conflict with either the Creationist or the Evolutionist points of view. This schedule marries the two beliefs in fact. No matter how uncomfortable that concept may be at the outset, the facts that Creation has evolved are indisputable because that evolution and schedule continues today. In fact the evolution of all consciousness has accelerated to such a degree that we can watch it unfold step by step as in time-lapse photography in the current headlines.

In Dr. Carl J. Calleman’s book, “Solving the Greatest Mystery of Our Time, The Mayan Calendar,” click here he carefully lays out all of the scientifically accurate facts used to prove this thesis. The article here is not meant to fill everything in, just give an over all view. It is hoped that each person will investigate these facts for themselves and not take any of this on “Faith”. Belief in this thesis is actually counter-productive for two basic reasons; those without adequate knowledge can not effectively pass the information to others and a formula that I have developed which states;

“Peace of Mind” comes when a person is “Centered.” Centered-ness comes from Certainty. “Certainty comes from the recognition of patterns. So the stability of your “Peace of Mind” is directly related to your degree of certainty.

Blind faith, in my opinion, is not certainty but an obstruction of any facts that might undercut the faith. Thus creating a limit to one’s true Peace of Mind.

This in turn is the generator of all types of defensive measures including wars, to protect one’s personal faith in how things are or ought to be. We’ve gone down that road far enough don’t you think?

I would like to show the evolution of Religious thought as a further demonstration of this schedule. This is something that all religious scholars can agree on no matter what denomination or personal agenda.

Brief Outline

• As previously stated the “Light” sections or “Days” of the Creation cycles, are periods of enlightenment when new perceptions are gained by consciousness. So it is with the evolution of our concept of God and our relationship to him. “Day” by “Day” we have increased our understanding and altered our approach toward God.

• The first “Day” of the National cycle was from 3115 BC to 2721 BC. It was at this time that the Sumerian’s worshiped An or Anu.

• Anu was seen as an omnipotent Creator God who had to share his space with a host of household, workplace, weather and nature gods of all kinds.

• The second “Day” of the National cycle was from 2326 BC to 1938 BC. During this section Abraham moved to Cana in 2300 BC.

• The third “Day” of the National cycle was from 1538 BC to 1144 BC.

• This was the time of Moses and the beginning of Monotheism. (The Truth coming into sharper focus.)

• The fourth “Day” of the National cycle was from 749 BC to 355 BC.

• Isaiah was from the year 748 BC, Buddha, 552 BC, Confucius, 551 BC, Zoroaster, 550 BC, Pythagoras, 550 BC, Deutero- Isaiah 550 BC .

• The fifth “Day” of the National cycle was from 40 AD to 434 AD. During this period Paul took the message of Jesus to the world and Christianity was born. Buddhism started in China 60 AD and the Talmudic and Judaism religions began at this time.

• Not to mention Quetzalcoatl, the Maya Creator god who appeared to them in Teotihuacan, as a Christ like personage with a very similar message, in 40 AD

• The Fifth “Night” 434 AD to 829 AD was when Islam was inspired in 632 AD

• The Sixth “Day” of the National cycle was from 829 AD to 1223 AD. At this time there was a general expansion of Christianity to Northern and Eastern Europe.

• The Crusades and development of the Papacy happened here as well as the second Quetzalcoatl in the Maya/Toltec city of Chichen Itza walked the earth.

• The sixth “Night” the second wave of Islam 1223 AD to 1617 AD.

• The seventh “Day” was from 1617 AD to 2011 AD. During this period, Christianity expanded once again, starting with the Pilgrims in 1620 AD.

We could go through the discovery of scientific principles or communication methods or development of political ideals or the creation of America and we will see that the developments in each field conform to the same schedule. In fact everything we know of what has happened when follows this schedule.

There is no mistake. This is no 16.4 Billion Years Long coincidence.

Living the Mayan Calendar
Living in Mayan = Living Intuition Sanity

The Mayan calendar is currently attracting interest all over the world. Yet, different people mean entirely different things by this concept and so at least at present it takes some sorting out to approach it. Before going into any calendrical details, I think however that we may ponder why it is that people now feel an intuitive attraction to a concept that they maybe do not have a clear idea about.

Why is it, for instance, that if you announce a talk about the Mayan calendar that this will usually draw a large crowd, while if you announce a talk about the Viking calendar or the Muslim calendar you would probably stand in an empty room?

I think the answer to this question is that people know that there is some fundamental aspect of the evolution of life that has been imperceptible for a long time. For those that have had some prior contact with the calendrical system that was used in ancient times in Mexico and Guatemala (what archaeologists call Mesoamerica) it may also have become clear that the way these cultures related to time was radically different from that of most people today.

The thought will then come naturally (as it did to me some 25 years ago): The Mesoamerican calendar system may reveal a profound aspect of life that we for long have been oblivious to.

Divine Creation & Consciousness
The conclusion I have drawn from my research about the Mayan calendar is that this hidden aspect of life is the ongoing process of divine creation that we are living in and that the purpose of this is soon to be fulfilled. Consciousness has been evolving for 16.64 billion years on a specific schedule and, within a very short span of time, will realize the higher purpose of our lives and what evolution has been all about.

The changing energies of time encoded in the Mayan calendar is propelling our consciousness to evolve according to a certain logic and certain patterns, that is the Cosmic Time Plan. At this critical period in time, increasing numbers of people want to know what this looks like.

If we are here to deliver the completion of a divine plan, we had better know what we are to deliver.

The World Tree

It is obvious that we are talking about something entirely different from a "calendar" in the common meaning of the word. It seems that the source of this divine creation is an all-encompasing Creative Principle, the Cosmic World Tree, or what the Maya would call Hunab-Ku, the Vikings Yggdrasil and the Jews the Tree of Life.

Through holographic resonance at the galactic, planetary and human levels this Creative Principle conditions the evolution of consciousness all over the universe, including on our own planet. It does so by creating alternating fields of energy "vibration" that is the schedule of evolution in all aspects of creation.

The Mayan calendar is a way to combine and contrast the similarities and differences of the various energies that change day by day through the light vibrations sent by the World Tree. Its glyphs and numbers symbolize these energies.

To many modern people the existence of a "World Tree" having a role shaping our lives may be too much to swallow...or too much to ignore? Yet, are we not the designers? As the designers of our self and as co-creators in consciousness of our own lives?

I think however that we should be reminded that the idea of a World Tree is one of the most widespread ”Universal Myths” in the ancient world. In the Biblical story of Adam and Eve, the World Tree provides the very stage of divine creation. In the Icelandic Sagas Yggdrasil plays a similar role and among the Maya, one of their best known long-term calendars, the so-called Long Count that started in 3114 BC, was activated by the First Father his raising of the World Tree.

Maybe then there is something here that is important for us to understand. If the World Tree set the stage with divine creation, in several different ancient cultures, widely separated in space and time, maybe we should understand what there is to know? After all, it is hard to fathom that it does not serve an important purpose. With so much interest in the topic, and myths of the World Tree in unrelated cultures and time periods, there must be information that is important for it to be so obscured.

If the Mayan calendar charts the vibrations of the World Tree and this World Tree is all-encompassing and universal in nature then this has a very significant consequence: This is that the cycles of the Mayan calendar are not subordinated to the astronomical cycles of our local planet.

Planetary Pulses
The pulses emitted from the World Tree influence not only our own planet, but also all planetary systems in our galaxy as well as in all other galaxies. If we are to resonate with the pulse energy emanating from the World Tree, there is little to base our notion of time on as the period of our own planet revolution about the Sun.

Calendar unique?
Unlike all other calendrical systems, it is not based on or subordinated to astronomical cycles. Just like consciousness, it is primary to the movement of matter in motion in the universe, necessary for any system that we believe has prophetic energy. Since the evolution of consciousness is propelled by pulses emanating from the World Tree a prophetic calendar system must be based on these pulses rather than the relative mechanical movements of the Earth, Moon and Sun.

Evolution of Consciousness is Primary to the cycles of celestial bodies in the sky.

To return then to my original question, "Why the Mayan Calendar?" I would like to answer this:

Because human beings in increasing numbers feel the need to synchronize their spiritual evolution with the divine plan rather than with endlessly repeated mechanical movements.

In the present energy of time, the beginning of the Fourth DAY of the Galactic Underworld (see below), the day energies emitted by the Hunab-Ku have become so powerful that they can no longer be ignored. We are living in an ”Underworld”, a period that propels the evolution of a certain level of consciousness, where strong cosmic energy shifts take place with such a high frequency that people everywhere experience evolution at a faster rate AS IF IT SEEMS a speed-up of our “time.” The rate of evolutioinary change DOES increase - due to more and more people = less time for each affect to be manifest here down below.

Actually, as is often said, time is an illusion. This illusion is caused by alternating pulses of consciousness emitted by the World Tree.

The experience of a speed-up of time is:
Inconsistent with calendars, (i.e. Gregorian), that are based on mechanical movements.
Nor can it be explained by common astrology as the duration of the planetary cycles has not undergone any significant change.

We are thus present to an increasing conflict between two different ways of relating to time:

1) Time based on alternating spiritual fields developing our consciousness, or;

2) Time based on mechanical movements of celestial bodies (like the mechanical gears of a watch).

The the heart of the matter is TIME : TIME, the way we keep TIME, is what should determine our choice of calendar.
Do we want a calendar that supports our resonance with the energies of the divine process of creation?
Supports the mechanical movements of our solar system?

Health Considerations: Gregorian

As a question that has implications for human health and well being, especially since the beginning of the Galactic Underworld. There has been a dramatic increase in many countries of the phenomenon known as burnout. This sometimes takes the form of a kind of paralysis of affected individuals. While the media in general present this as a result of the increased tempo in the work place, the Mayan calendar offers a deeper and more fundamental reason.

Burnout is a condition that arises because of the conflict between expressions of different levels of consciousness in an individual. A person might for instance have been born into the kind of materialist consciousness that was typical of the Planetary Underworld, which began in 1755. In this Underworld the existence of any spiritual influence on human life came to be denied and so also a mechanical notion of time was developed. Since early 1999 we are however most strongly affected by the pulses of the Galactic Underworld, which develops a more spiritual consciousness at a much higher pace. From the combined effects on our consciousness of these two Underworlds a conflict may arise in the human individual.

Some people may in a stepwise fashion be able to smoothly integrate the new consciousness-transforming pulses of the Galactic Underworld.

Others, especially those that deny the existence of the new pulses that the Mayan Calendar describes, will resist their influence until a point is reached where the conflict between the two levels of consciousness become so intense that a kind of social paralysis of the affected may result:

Figure 1. The Galactic Underworld with the pulsewise development of new energies (DAYS 1 through 7) is shown in the lower row. In the upper row are the traditional tzolkin rounds that are part of the Galactic Underworld (In the Galactic Underworld there is a total of eighteen tzolkin rounds. Following the Midlight Meditation on June 1-2, 2005 there are however only nine to go.

It should be said here that my research into the Mayan calendar, proving the existence of pulses step-by-step transforming our consciousness (essentially whether we like it or not), also has more general implications for how we are to look upon health in the time ahead. Staying healthy will not only be about keeping our body-mind balance, or recovering it when it is lost, but about smoothly upgrading our consciousness step-by-step with the incoming pulses. The ongoing transformation of the human being leads to a definition of health as the ability to attain new states of balance that our body-mind may never have experienced in the past. Calendrical energies have been taken into consideration for long by Mayan shamans in healing work. The reason is that they know that the energies of the days influence consciousness and that consciousness influences the state of our bodies. Such ideas may be alien to modern hospital care (imagine deciding the date of surgery based on its ruling tzolkin energy), but will gain increasing relevance in the time ahead, at least within alternative medicine. The influence of the energies of time will increasingly need to be considered in healing practices. We are at a point in our evolution where a fundamental choice of calendar will present itself more starkly to us in our everyday lives because of the speed-up of time. In my view the calendar of the future is the prophetic Mayan calendar system.

For those with a greater interest in how divine creation and the various energies of the Sacred Mayan Calendar (also known as the tzolkin) manifest in human history and our individual lives I recommend my own books The Mayan Calendar (Garev 2001) and The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness (Bear and Co, 2004). These link up the rather brief and abstract ideas presented in this article with the concrete facts of cosmic evolution in many of its aspects. In my view, the Mayan calendar, because it goes back to the so-called Big Bang, 10 billion years before our own solar system even came into existence, provides a framework that is more encompassing than any other astrological system. Also, the Mayan astrological system in contrast to most others, is cosmic rather than geocentric.

The global nature of the Mayan calendar

So how do I know that the calendrical system that I have outlined is truly aligned with the flow of divine creation? Well, as I said, in my books I present extensive empirical evidence that this is the case. I would however like to add another point of interest in this matter and this is my contact with Sri Bhagavan and Sri Amma, avatars who lives in the Golden City in South India. Sri Bhagavan’s mission is to develop processes, including sutras and dikshas, to aid in the enlightenment of humanity by the year 2012. Certainly, there may be many other paths towards enlightenment than the ones Sri Bhagavan is providing, but it is clear that at the present time there is a very rapidly increasing interest in his. In this context what is interesting is that his mission has a deadline that conforms to the Mayan calendar. You may then have thought that he had read somewhere of the famous end date of the Mayan calendar and based his deadline on this. This was actually not the case. Before Sri Bhagavan had read my book The Mayan Calendar he had no knowledge even of the existence of this prophetic calendar system of the ancient Native Americans. Instead, the deadline was based on visions people had in South India. And while certainly these were never formalised with the kind of sophistication that it was in the ancient Mayan calendar it is nonetheless very noteworthy that this prophecy amounted to an essentially similar time plan meant to bring humanity to an enlightened state of consciousness. What this means is that the reality of the energies of time described by the ancient Maya is increasingly making themselves felt to people all over the planet, people with origins in widely different traditions. And, of course, this is exactly what we should expect given the cosmic nature of the World Tree that drives the evolution of consciousness all over the planet.

This is the reason for the increasing interest in the Mayan calendar at the present time. The energies of the days are becoming something to experience rather than a mental construct. Certainly, if we have faith that the Cosmic Time Plan will lead us to the New Jerusalem, Shambala or whatever we would like to call it, we should make this calendar an integral part of our daily lives and spiritual practices. The Mayan calendar however has little to say about what paths we are to choose. It does not tell us whether we should practice Yoga, Qi Gong, TM, give dikshas or practice Karma Yoga. The Mayan calendar is not another path. Rather it is the temporal framework of all the paths and it provides the reason that there exist any paths to begin with. It charts the Cosmic Time Plan for the collective path of humanity towards enlightenment. We may choose to make that Time Plan conscious to ourselves and others. It is thus a good idea to seek to integrate the Mayan calendar in our daily activities to aid us ride the ups and downs of divine creation (Yes, there will be ups and downs!) and keep our focus straight on its intended completion; the enlightenment of humanity.

Since the beginning of the Fourth DAY of the Galactic Underworld (Gregorian Dec 4, 2004) there has been a tremendous strengthening of the pulses emanating from the World Tree and this intensification will go on until the energy 13 Light in the current tzolkin count (corresponding to Gregorian June 1, 2005). This is the last date of the tzolkin count and a much prophesized energy of enlightenment, and so the following day a new tzolkin count will begin. These dates are the dates of the Midlight Meditation. I invite everyone to experience these dates as a peak of the strong energies that are now coming in with the Fourth DAY. These are days for worldwide celebrations and extremely potent days for all work aiming to transform human consciousness. They also provide an excellent opportunity to start following the true Mayan tzolkin count. I feel we have now come to a point where we should not merely gather at critical days, such as June 1-2, 2005 (13 Light and 1 Alligator), but really also do preparatory work to merge our paths with the divine time plan as we know it from the Mayan calendar. Whether we like to practice yoga or Tai Chi, Silva Method or Kabbalah, not to mention the activities of our daily lives, we should seek to do so in the rhythm provided by the true tzolkin count. What it is all about is making our individual lives part of the larger divine plan and allow this to give us guidance in what very likely will turn out to be very turbulent times in the years ahead. It is not only what we do that matters. It is also when we do it.

Materialist and Spiritual Calendars

Not many people would believe that the calendar or the chronology they are using shape the way they look at the world. While we for instance take it for granted that a belief in God leads to a different world view than a lack of belief in God not many would think that their calendars condition and shape their views of the world in a similar way. But maybe our calendars shape our view of the world all the more so just because of the very fact we do not think that they matter. Since we are blind to their importance they may insidiously indoctrinate us to look at the world in a special way that we have no choice about especially if we are ignorant about the alternatives.

Today the Gregorian calendar clearly dominates the world, and then, above all, the world of business since all economic agreements are timed according to this calendar. That a calendar with such a function is linked to the astronomical, i.e. physical and material, year is hardly an accident since a materialist philosophy and attitude towards life have generated both the economic transactions and the astronomical calendar.

The Gregorian calendar is based on a fairly exact estimate, 365.2425 days, of the duration of the solar year. Thus it conditions human beings as exactly as possibly to follow the physical cycles and indoctrinates us to believe that the material reality is the primary.

The Classical Mayan people on the other hand celebrated their birthdays every 360 days, their tzolkin days every 260 days, and their chronology, the Long Count, which was not based on the physical solar year, but on galactic spirituality as represented in stages of evolution as more and various cycles with an entirely different meaning.

And even if the tzolkin count that was used in ancient Mesoamerica was unique in the world we do know that all of the ancient high cultures of the world used a holy 360-day "year" in parallel with the astronomic 365-day calendar that they used for agricultural purposes. To follow a 365-day calendar was obviously necessary for providing sustenance - but not sufficient for the prophecies, which required a 360-day period! Thus, in Sumeria a time period called a schar which lasted for 3600 days, i.e. 10 "years" of 360 days each was also used. The Egyptians followed a 360-day year to which was added 5 days "when the gods were born," something which clearly demonstrates that these peoples were aware of the religious character of the 360-day year in contrast to the astronomical year.

It is believed that prior to the introduction of the Julian calendar around 40 BC ancient Rome would use a 360-day calendar and the same is true for the Nordic countries judging from ceremonial centres. From the Book of Revelation (12:6 and 12:14) we may gather from some detective work that the Jews at the time said book was written considered 360 days as a "time." Also in ancient China a religious 360-day year was followed that was divided into six periods of sixty days each, and in the ancient Hindu culture 360 days was considered as a "night of Brahman" again linking this time period to a divine process of Creation. Among the Maya such a period of 360 days was called a tun, and it was at the beginning of each new tun or katun (20 tuns) that the priests would gather to make prophecies for the coming "age." Hence the Mayan concept of "ages" was based on the tun.

All of these ancient cultures, originating in such different parts of the world, were in possession of sufficiently advanced astronomical knowledge to have estimated the solar year to about 365 1/4 days. Yet, they choose to use a 360-day year in parallel with the astronomical year. Why? The fact that the Maya priests would gather every 360 days to make their prophecies hints at the answer. The evolution of the human consciousness and the divine plan for the evolution of this is based on the tun.

If we think about it, it is not very surprising that the evolution of human consciousness does not follow the 365-day year: If matter - but not consciousness - is an illusion, why then would the evolution of consciousness depend on the cyclical movements of matter - such as for instance the revolution of the earth around the sun in 365 days. Since today people in general have ceased to follow the 360-day year and have accepted the dominance of the Gregorian calendar we have also become blind to the fact that there exists a divine plan and that this divine plan proceeds independently of anything physical or material. When we start to follow a calendar based on the Holy 360-day year we will once again open our eyes to the spiritual and divine reality. Conversely, the spiritual seekers are already beginning to realize the value of following a tun-based calendar as a guide to the divine pulses of light.

What makes the Mayan Calendar our Currency of Consciousness Awareness?

A person with no previous exposure to the Mayan Calendar will sometimes initially be surprised by the fact that some people today take such an interest in an ancient calendar.

After all, human history has seen a high number of different calendars. Is not then the Mayan calendar just a very specialized subject of interest only to specialists or history buffs?

“Why would the world today need another calendar than the Gregorian or Muslim that are currently in use? Why should this be the Mayan calendar?” some may ask.

It does not have to be this or that way - we are evolved and that means we have the options from which to choose! Many people feel there are important realizations to be experienced and intuition to be known but most of that is impossible on a calendar that has the motto:

T.I.M.E. = M.O.N.Y.

Unfortunately, today people do not have an educated knowledge of the South American native cultures in general, and very few know of the importance of the Mayan civilization.

Many are surprised to learn that in the 5th to 9th centuries AD, the Mayan cities were among the largest in the world and developed the most advanced mathematics and astronomy of their day. There were areas of astronomy and mathematics in which they progressed well beyond the rest of the world population at the time. The population of South America at one point during the peak of their civilization was over 2.5 million people!

And so, even if the Native American civilizations hardly survived the later contact with the Europeans they were and are the carriers of a significant and irreplaceable part of the global human consciousness.

When we talk about the Mayan Calendar something profoundly different is meant than just a system to mark off the passage of time. The Mayan Calendar is above all a prophetic calendar that may help us understand the past and foresee the future. It is a mathematically precise system of the Ages that describes the progression of our evolution in stages of Days & Nights (or "Heavens") and Nine Levels of "Underworlds" to frame the human consciousness for our thinking and acting within a given Age.

The Mayan Calendar provides an exact schedule for the Cosmic Plan and the unfolding of all things that come into existence. There is now ample empirical evidence for this, something that shines new light on the age old questions of mankind. Things do exist for a reason.

The reason is that they fit into the divine cosmic plan. For those that seriously engage in a study of the Mayan Calendar this soon becomes evident and the former materialist world view loses all relevance. The Mayan Calendar is a gateway to the worlds of consciousness which the majority of humanity has been completely lacking awareness due to the world-wide universal acceptance of material calendars (i.e. Gregorian, Julian).

Since everything that exists is an aspect of consciousness, and the Mayan Calendar describes the evolution of consciousness in all aspects of creation, it encompasses all of past and all of the future energies. How to align the energies with our activities as human beings to create consciousness in life is what the calendar is all about.

It is not to predict WHAT WILL HAPPEN - but to prepare for the ENERGY of each day knowing WHAT ASPECTS WILL BE for each day - according to what we focus our attention in alignment.

All science is included;
All religion is included;
All of life is now.

We are all here for a reason.
Time will not always be equal to dollar$.

Time for a new perspective - of intuition, with spirit and inspiration. Time is what we make of it!

Questions or comments of any kind?
Any aspect you do not understand?
What could use different examples?

Confused? If so, you are not alone:
Don't know to explain what is confusing?
Anything at all?

Remember - the only stupid question is the one not asked!

Thanks to those who have sent questions or comments already. I appreciate all feedback.

The calendar as the source of consciousness within a society, country, culture - eventually the whole planet.

Consider how many different ways our society relies on the calendar to function - and communicate - to organize the communication, to communicate the organization.

A calendar is - between people, communities or countries - the only way functions between the two can be reliably organized or communicated.

Think about how ingrained it is to every day of our lives.

When was the last time someone asked you what day it was

Or when did you last ask someone what day it was?

If you remember those days in college, then you must remember how valuable they were because of the way it made you feel. Even if it was temporary, and we knew it was temporary, we still got to enjoy what always carried with it the sense that the experience was temporary. Just like life itself.

Everything is temporary because nothing ever stops.

We may rest but we are never completely without motion - because that would mean without life!

If nothing ever stops then no wonder a structure becomes to seem so valuable that we take it for granted. Until we really stop and think about it...and if you are defensive, or anxious just thinking about it? Totally expected and normal reaction.

The calendar literally provides the foundation of our civilized, consumerized, corporatocracized, calamatized - consciousness.

Nevertheless, failure to identify the aspects in which we are aware of our conscious co-creation will not impress the evolutionary gate keepers, but all we can really do for anyone else? Is to help our self...It sounds counter-intuitive, I know, but that is part of the problem that is the Painful Realignment we all must go through one way or another.

We don't HAVE to do anything. It is our will to choose. l And we ARE free to do that, I believe...

Absolute Power Corrupts ABSOLUTELY.

Consciousness is primary to matter and motion:

• Without matter, no motion.
• Without motion, no matter.

• Without spirit, no matter or motion
• Without spirit, no conscious awareness..

Everything else flows from creation, in consciousness, whether or not we are aware of it. It is as it is.

Role Models of society that we can no longer trust:

1. Roman Catholic Priests.

2. Bishops & Cardinals

3. Jesuits

4. L.A. Police

5. Baseball players.

6. Government officials at all levels.

7. Attorneys that you paid to represent your 'interest.'

8. Teachers • Public & Private

9. Patriotism meant doing right by doing good;

10. Semantics of certain words would not be used against us and our children to create even more fear and anxiety to further drive families apart.

Is the New Congress to Be Believed?
December 3, 2006

Well before Election Day, the smart-money lobbyists of K Street were already shifting campaign donations to safe Democratic incumbents, greasing access to the next Congressional majority. That should be warning enough to the incoming speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, and Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, to deliver quickly and credibly on their campaign vows to attack the corrupt, quid-pro-quo culture that besotted the Republican-controlled Capitol.

Yet even before the new Congress arrives, there is disquieting talk of advance compromises on what will be done — or not done.

It’s fortunate the incoming members will be in the Capitol this week, preparing for January and, not incidentally, observing the lame-duck finale of the Congress that failed on this vital issue.

There will be only one good chance to get this right. Once the new year begins, any feeling of urgency will fade, replaced by a determination to acquire, and protect, whatever power and turf are available.

At a minimum, the reforms must include:

1) Creation of a public integrity office to do more than merely audit lobbyists’ filings.
• If Congress is to regain the public’s respect, both houses must create an independent office to investigate the behavioral lapses of lawmakers themselves, not just their sycophants.

Anything less, and the ethics issue falls back into the lap of the moribund internal policing machinery that has long protected wayward members.

2) An enforceable ban, with penalties, on all meals, gifts and travel — not just from lobbyists, but also from the organizations that hire them.
• The ban should cover staff members as well.
• Privately financed “fact-finding” junkets should at long last be banned;
• along with lawmakers’ riding as fat cats’ chattel on corporate jets for token fares.

3) Restraints on the revolving-door horde of Congressional alumni turned backslapping lobbyists.
• Former lawmakers should be required to wait two years, not one, before cashing in on their nice-to-see-you cachet.
• No lobbyists, even former members, should have access to the floor, gym or cloakroom of either house.
• If a sitting member of Congress or a staff member starts negotiating for a job in the private sector, he or she should be required to disclose it.

The public cannot be expected to tolerate replays of the low moment when architects of the new Medicare drug subsidy plan were secretly working to land lucrative jobs in the pharmaceutical industry while they devised the legislation.

4) Detailed disclosure of costly and undebated “earmarks” — amendments passed as pork-barrel favors to backdoor pleaders.
• The secretive spending and midnight conference games should be brought into the sunlight via Internet technology.
• Transparency will not stop lawmakers from trying to get funding for pet projects back home.
• But it might at least discourage them from doing the same thing on behalf of special interest lobbyists.

The new Congress must realize the ethics issue will test its mettle in the opening hours, and signal if real change is possible.
A field general of the incoming majority, Representative Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, is already warning that failure to deliver on ethics reform will be “devastating to our standing” in the very first moment of Democratic power.

Notes on Ian's Lectures, Book Reviews & Google Video Links

This post contains links to six (6) videos with a total of 10 hours of lectures that are free on Google Video, all given by Mr. Ian Xel Lungold in the year before he died last November 16, 2005. The video recommended to anyone who is not familiar with this material is shown below. The google search to all six (6) videos is below.

Between them there is some overlapping information covered and the three (3) videos he recorded in 2005 are the best about the current events and how the chaotic and seemingly apocolyptic potential scenarios are following patterns of evolutionary change and progress according to the waves of energy as they are meant to harmonically resonate and the effects caused all have a purpose.

January 26, 1949 - November 16, 2005
12-Sun (Ahau)

This is a picture of Ian as shown on the web site still maintained by his wife and friends. Quoted further down is a portion of the lecture where he explains his promise to the native people and his experience with the dis-information surrounding the Mayan Calendar. All very much the same type of psychological tactics we see in the 9-11 movement, and the reason there is so much hype and ignorance surrounding the bogus fear of the world ending on 12/21/2012.

Rest assured the world, nor their calendar, ends on 12/21/2012 - that is all bullshit propogated by many who have no idea what they are talking about, not so much intentionally to discredit the authentic scientific interpretation by Ian & Dr. Calleman, but more because they believe their own deception.

John Major Jenkins, the most recognizable name of all the authors on books about the Mayans, is fully aware of the information that Ian and Dr. Carl Johann Calleman put together. Despite having devoted over 20 years to the effort, Mr. Jenkins was not able to deduce what Ian and Carl did. They made sense out of by taking the approach of what could they prove, not what could they speculate. As a result, Mr. Jenkins is bitter and feels cheated because he failed to understand the system of timekeeping in the way that Carl did. I have corresponded with Mr. Jenkins, to explain that he is only hurting himself and damaging any credibility for the Mayans overall because he continues to disparage Carls findings and actively seeks to discredit the book wherever he can.

In the six months I spent (full-time) understanding the timekeeping and how it makes sense, a large part of that effort was wasted because Mr. Jenkins serves to confuse the idea, and several times I abandoned the effort altogether because if the two authors who know more than I do cannot agree on what works, then this is a waste of time.

After emails with Mr. Jenkins, and compelled by my intuition to persevere in spite of this being one of the most difficult and frustrating endeavors I have ever experienced, I finally could see that Mr. Jenkins was ignoring everything that Dr. Calleman had to say! He also ignored everything I had to say to him about how his efforts almost caused me to abandon the whole thing. The bottom line was that he didn't care because the end date is 12/21/2012 and anything beyond or outside of that issue was literally not comprehensible to him at all.

So, if you have been interested in the Mayans and their system of timekeeping, throw out ALL OTHER MATERIALK you may have, especially any by Jose Arguelles & John Major Jenkins. They are false, contrived for convenience and will only confuse and frustrate. The ONLY BOOK to buy on this subject is this one:

Solving the Greatest Mystery of Our time : The Mayan Calendar

About the Author
Carl Calleman, PhD. in Molecular Biology, lives and works in Sweden. Dr. Calleman has studied the Mayan Calendar for many years through scholastic studies and in-depth visits to Mexico and Latin America. He has concentrated on unlocking the secrets of the Calendar and is now able to present his findings in this publication. The book is long-awaited and compelling and must be read by all those looking for answers to questions about who we are, why we are and from where we came.

Book Reviews (text only) as shown on Amazon:

A Strong Thread of Truth, February 24, 2001
Dr Carl J. Calleman has discovered a strong thread of truth which is presented in this new book. What will we weave of it? Here we have a bridge from our logical, rational western minds, to the Heart of indigenous wisom and the portal of our own intuition. Dr. Calleman offers up information so that any student of Conscious Evolution can prove to themselves that there is indeed a schedual of Creation. From all that we can scientifically prove of what happened when, all of the major events in Evolution and throughout our history match the timing shifts of the Mayan calendar. For 16.4 billion years the flow of Creation and Evolution has been going through an acceleration. We are just now beginning to be able to percieve the shifts in speed and scope of Consciousness within one life-time. Remember when a single second was a short period of time? Now a Billion things happen in a single second. This acceleration will contiune, bringing ever more rapid and dynamic changes to our lives. Understanding "why?" is the tonic we all need. Find yours in this book.

This book provides information for any student of Conscious Evolution to prove to themselves that there is a schedule to creation. That schedule is the Mayan calendar. From everything that we can scientifically prove of what happened when, the pattern of timing of major events in our evolution and history matches the timing shifts of the Mayan calendar over the last 16.4 billion years. What is more important is the demonstration of the acceleration of Creation that is producing ever more rapid change in all of our lives. We have only recently begun to be able to percieve the acceleration in one life time. There are much more rapid changes to come....

Brilliant! A must-read book!, October 25, 2001
When London was only a village, the Mayan civilization inhabited ancient Mexico. Indeed, the cities of Tikal and Teotihuacan each had at least 100,000 citizens. This culture, steeped in spiritualism and science, as well as artistic beauty and advanced engineering techniques, offers much to our understanding of Spirit consciousness.

The subject of Carl Johan Calleman's far-reaching new book, The Mayan Calendar, is the legacy of the Mayans and a means for people to discern true purpose in life through a wider perspective of the world that it fosters. Thus, The Mayan Calendar lends a detailed description of human history...it's science, religions, growth, beliefs...and predictions for our future. Dr. Calleman writes, "We may thus also say that the Mayan calendar will provide guidance for the future and an improved understanding of the course of events as they unfold".

Review of THE MAYAN CALENDAR, by Bernie P. Nelson, September 18, 2001
This reviewer found in The Mayan Calendar a well-written and researched discussion of evolution, and our place in the cosmos. Dr. Calleman unites Eastern and Western philosophies...and science and religion, at the same time. The author is uniquely qualified for this task since he holds a Doctorate in Physical Biology, and has been a student of the Mayan calendar for over eight years.

Further, this powerful work can enable us to discover the higher purpose meant for us, and how to fulfill it. Carl Johan Calleman has given us a book of insight and hope. The Mayan Calendar, in this reviewer's opinion, should be read by everyone seeking wholeness...everyone!

The reviewer is amazed how well Calleman unifies modern scientific models with the Mayan Calendar structure.
This model for unifying all branches of science, as well as science and religion, provides an evolutionary cosmic plan as well as a solution to perplexing questions surrounding the reasons for our existence.
The book is enlightening, providing a true meaning about the Mayan cosmic schedule. Once reading it's difficult to stop before the last page, and what awaits is a wonderful surprise about the completion point on 10/28/2011.

Making Sense of the Present... and the Future, February 24, 2001
Science and shamanism meet face-to-face in full embrace. I was astounded by the confirmation of traditional teachings with scientific fact. That all of our history and prior evolution can actually be mapped, and was described and predicted by the Maya, is the most reassuring and stimulating knowlege we've yet discovered. Dr. Calleman has proven with precise charts, descriptions and explanations that all events occur in a ever-evolving cycle and that time is not speeding up, creation is! The only conclusion must be that by 2012 we all will be living in a vastly expanded conscousness. Hurrah for this book! Hurrah for the evolution of consciousness!

Scholarly, provocative examination, July 31, 2002
In this scholarly work Carl Calleman examines the Mayan calendar in detail and explains how the Mayans combined their knowledge and understanding of not only time, but spirituality, evolutionary cycles, historical cycles and the very fabric of the universe into their system. Calleman weaves historical information with science, religious philosophy of various types, the pyramids, evolution and various other items to show how they are all related to the pattern of the Mayan calendar. Since the Mayan calendar continues through the year 2011 it predicts the pattern of things to come.

Consciousness RULES!, September 2, 2002
What has completely entranced me about Carl Johan Calleman's book is that he shows how consciousness is not only primary to matter, but also time itself. I'm sure you've come across the endtime date of December 2012 before, but he's got all the details in-between now and then nailed down and wow what an incredible ride we're in for. The last increase in the vibration of time occurred on January 4, 1999, so that every 360 days we on earth will experience major changes, whereas it had been every 19.7 years approx. Then during the last 260 days (before the closing of the cycles) the changes happen every 20 days!
Creation is accelerating and we are the Creators.

Mis-Informative Information:
This is just one example of numerous DIS-information & Mis-Information efforts on-going to prevent the average person from discovering the insights and factual information (and not speculation) in Dr. Callemans book.

This is copied as it appears in a summary on Amazon Listmania by someone who claims to have discovered another fear-based end of the world disaster scenario. It is fabricated by taking much of the bullshit contained in the other books, and summarizing his 'theory" which incorporates the bullshit together with an actual chart from Dr. Callemans book - and drawing consclusions not found in Dr. Callemans book!

See here in plain highlights the bullshit, either "his" or the books bullshit conclusions. In blue see hightlights of the chart used to associate and discredit Dr. Callemans scientific work with all the 99.99% bullshit. The effect is obvious and creates the impression that they are all bullshit - and they are, except Dr. Callemans book.

I have discovered after reading 5 books, bought from amazon, that we are about to experience a massive extinction level event (ELE) on or about 2012 (between the years of 2011-2021 to be more precise). My basic theory comes from the book Catastrophobia: The Truth Behind Earth Changes, by Barbara Clow. In this book, it establishes a massive ELE event that occurs every 30 million years due to passage of our solar system through the galactic equator plane (page 195). However, it incorrectly concludes that we have already had this ELE 11,500 years ago (pages 1 and 195), when, in fact we have not. In other words, we did have an ELE 11,500 years ago but not due to our solar system passing threw the galactic equator plane. You see, every 30 million years, we go through what is called the Galactic Equator Plane of the Milkey Way which, for some reason, causes this extinction level event (ELE) to occur (again page 195). The book Galactic Alignment: The Transformation of Consciousness According to Mayan, Egyptian, and Vedic Traditions by John Major Jenkins prooves we are going through the Galactic Equator Plane NOW (and not 11,500 years ago) between the 1975-2021 time period (page 255), with alignment with the galactic center, our sun, and earth having already occured in 1998 or so (page 255). The Earth actually clears the Galactic Equator Plane in the year 2021 (page 255) according to this same book. An excellent diagram of the 250 million year, galactic year, of the orbit of the solar system around the center of the Milkey Way is found on page 100 of Carl Johan Calleman's book, Solving the Greatest Mystery of Our Time: The Mayan Calendar, which has a great visual diagram on this page, whereby, you can see that every 30 million years, the earth crosses this barrier 8 times, every galactic revolution. In this same diagram, you can see our solar system's previous position in the Northern Hemi-sphere of the Milkey Way, on it's way currently, traversing the Galactic Equator Plane, and soon to be, after 2021, into the Southern Hemi-sphere of the Milkey Way. This explains why we are currently experiencing so many meteors, asteroids, and comets coming from the South Polar region, ie, we are heading in a southern direction through the dust and debris field of the galactic plane. The last time our solar system was going through the galactic plane, that is, going from the Northern Galactic Hemisphere into the Southern one, was approximately 63.1 to 65 Million years ago. That is when the dinosaurs roamed the earth before they went extinct, allegedly by an asteroid hitting into the Yucatan. No doubt coming from the South polar region. My theory is further descibed in the following 4 book reviews found at this link.
So you'd like to... Know about the End of the World on or about 2012?

Smile The Game of Loss and Lack Smile

In the effort to get to know you all a little better I wish to impart and then have comments about a very personal point of view.

There are, in my opinion, trillions of individual points of consciousness in the universes or multi dimensions. Those that do not have limitations of time and space held as a core consideration can pop in and out of any dimension at will.

There are only two things that these beings cannot have: LACK & LOSS.

Only while physical and constrained by considerations of duality can you suffer or exalt in the conquest of dreams. Only while physical, is there anything to overcome or to succumb to.

This is Drama, this is Emotion, this is Physical Sensation whether pleasure or pain. You can only get it HERE.

This is why we are so dearly loved by other beings.
Twisted Evil

We are the show.

Mostly we go about our lives totally involved with the game, handling events and circumstances as deftly as we know how. Very similar to a sports star out on the field with 100,000 fellow beings in the stands cheering and a million more tuned in by TV broadcast. He's just playing the game as best he can.

It is my belief and with some personal experience confirmed at least for myself, that most of spirit/consciousness is able to tune in to anyone's "personal broadcast" of experience.

Each of us has a very distinct vibratory frequency by which we interact with the universe and along this frequency we co-create the whole.

We broadcast this frequency into the universe just like TV or radio.
The reason that the Nielson Ratings and Television are such a huge success with the human race is that:

it is a direct lower harmonic of what is really going on in the universe. There are trillions of spirits out there tuning in to 3D land to watch and virtually experience what it is like to be at risk of loss.

What is it that makes any movie or real life situation exciting?
The real or perceived chance of loss.

So with 6 billion+ broadcasts or viewpoints from just this planet there is to say the least, a wide selection to channel surf through.
(And you thought 500 choices on cable were too much?)

Anyway, with that many choices who gets watched and who is basically ignored? Some shows make it through a season some don't...

Those broadcasts with the most Risk tend to be watched the most.
Without judgment of right or wrong, good or evil, the beings watch only for content.

Please get this:
"There is only Creation from their points of view, all good and all supposed bad, are part of the creation and that is it."

No judgment from them.

So the broadcasts that draw a bigger audience get better "Sponsorship"
(i.e. by that I mean the most collective consciousness that is directed toward your life's broadcast the more assistance will come from spirit.)
With better spiritual sponsorship you get better "Production"
(i.e. a better quality of life and a flow of beneficial circumstances.)

This part is my own experience.

But putting things at Risk, you draw attention from beings that cannot personally experience Loss. LionHeart just did one of these Riskings when he handed some information to a person that was supplied exactly for that opportunity.

What did LionHeart Risk?
The Admiration from the other being.
That is really all there is here to gain or lose.

The risk was that Lion Heart or the viewpoint of the information would be rejected. LionHeart took the risk and the beings tuned to his broadcast, Stood and Roared, did the Wave and all that.

Every time we go ahead and follow our hearts in spite of perceived risk of loss we turn up the volume "Up There" and draw more of a crowd and more support.

Hey! It's workin for President Bush! What you thought that this was only for the "GOOD GUYS"?

I told you, no judgment "Up There" is how all the "Bad Guys" got such a jump on everyone else!

They were the ones taking the biggest risks, weren't they?

Like this, Hitler says, "All of you follow me and by the way give ME all those countries and the people to do with what I want!"

Don't you suppose there was some personal risk at stake here? Wouldn't you be a little concerned that someone might get upset at your plans and actions and come to beat you senseless?
Somehow he jumped past those reservations and took the risks.

Remember: no judgment.
This is exciting stuff and gets lots of attention!
Bonnie & Clyde, Jessie James, and many other famous thieves and warriors have had tremendous successes. Rock Stars & Movie Stars have put themselves at risk of more loss than most of us.

What is it that makes a show go off the air after being popular for a while?
• It becomes predictable or starts playing "Over the Top".
• Ratings fall even with bigger Risks taken because they are now, predictable.
• With slumping Consciousness ratings the "Sponsorship" dries up and "Production" goes to Poop!

• Bad things happen, (like getting caught and stuff) sickness or death moves in and show is over.

So how do you keep the ratings up and growing?
By taking ETHICAL risks and doing it often.
• Ethical risks form no preset pattern - they are spontaneous solutions.
• Un-ethical actions are "blanket solutions" imposed onto spontaneous situations (like morals for certain situations).

This is what I have personally done and have seen the direct benefits. I have by choice; put myself, and what I know that I can demonstrate out in front of thousands of people. I have traveled with little but a purpose, to foreign countries to speak to and with people that I did not know. I have put personal needs and comforts at a lower level of priority so as to allow for such levels of risk.

I have found that I automatically went into a new level of "Production".

Not so much in the quality of my life personally (although that too) but more in the amount of wonderful openings to bring this information forward. The level of acceptance of this information has quadrupled in the past year.

Now here's another trick. Cool Well not so much a trick, but the "Crowd" that happens to be tuned into your frequency right now does really love it.

As you are sitting there reading this with the "God Bumps" running all down your body from head to toe;

Mr. Green Turn Your Attention To The Crowd & WAVE! Mr. Green

Wave your acknowledgement of their support and admiration. Then go look for the next Ethical risk you can perform.
Have a good game!

In service,
Ian Xel Lungold

The Mayan Calendar and the Cycles of the Goddess

by Carl Johan Calleman

Humanity’s path towards retrieving the Mayan calendar system really started with the Harmonic Convergence, August 16-17, 1987, when large numbers of people in the West turned out for a spiritual celebration. Although, it was not recognized at the time, this celebration had the distinction of falling on the first two days of a traditional Mayan tzolkin (260-day) round, such as befits a new beginning. Although he was not alone, José Argüelles was the main promoter of the event and in the seminal “The Mayan Factor” (1) outlined several important ideas that would later be instrumental for elucidating the meaning of the Mayan calendar system.

Among many other things he emphasized the non-physical nature of the Mayan calendar system: "Naturally, most Mayan scholars are puzzled by what appears to be the use of 260- and 360-unit 'calendar' cycles that do not correspond in any precise way to perceivable astronomical or organic planetary cycles" (page 73). Although both Frank Waters and Peter Balin some ten years earlier had suggested that the Mayan calendar system had a real relevance for the spiritual evolution of mankind, Argüelles brought this insight to a much higher level. The contours of a cosmic plan became visible.

In the subsequent years, in a reversal of these previous thoughts, Argüelles ignored the non-physical cycles and with his wife Lloydine developed a calendar system, which was dubbed the Dreamspell/Thirteen Moon calendar and represented an adaptation to the physical year of 365.25 years. Especially since we collaborate in certain respects I feel it is all the more important to clarify the differences between the calendar systems that we are proposing and why I instead favor a prophetic calendar system that is based on non-physical cycles. I feel in fact that there is overwhelming evidence that only a non-astronomically based calendar system can guide humanity’s path towards Enlightenment.

While the issue of what is the true tzolkin count has been extensively discussed in the past the same can not be said about the idea of dividing the solar year into thirteen moons of 28 days each plus one "day out of time." Essentially this calendar system then seems to have been based on the premise that 28 days should correspond to the feminine cycle. It may be time to ask if this is correct. Regardless, it deviates from the traditional Mayan way of counting months. At ancient steles we may see that the duration of their months alternated between 29 and 30 days, a way of counting months that incidentally for a long time has also been used by the Jews.

What then is the duration of the true feminine cycl? Why did the ancient Maya follow a moon cycle averaging 29.5 days rather than 28? A full moon cycle is 29.53 days and in ancient mythologies the full moon is almost invariably associated with a female goddess. Among the Maya this goddess was called Ixchel and in Babylon she was called Ishtar, who was said always to menstruate on a full moon. This raises the question of why, if ancient mythologies associate the female cycles of ovulation and menstruation with the full moon cycle of 29.5 days, why do modern doctors often say that it is 28 days?

Medical and biological textbooks will mostly state that the female cycles typically have durations of 28 days, with a range of variation between 21 and 35 days. In practice there is however often a considerable variation between different women and also over the life-time of an individual woman. Yet, we may still ask what is the duration of the natural female cycles and what determines their duration. Most animals have estrus cycles of a very different length and so, why would the human female be special in having a cycle paralleling that of the full moon?

Upon closer study, it turns out that 28 days is not the true average of the natural female cycle. In the modern world the female cycle is disturbed above all by the existence of artificial lights and the use of artificial hormones on a scale that has left no woman unaffected. It is thought that the many moon-mimicking light sources, probably including TV and computer screens, has perturbed the female cycle and generally shortened it. It is however obvious from these disturbances that it is the light of the moon, in other words the full moon cycle of 29.5 days, that the female body is responding to. Women desiring more regular menses are in fact sometimes recommended to sleep with lights on at certain days. Some also use this to attempt to precipitate ovulation. The point to realize is that the female cycle responds to light.

The above is anecdotal, but there is also scientific evidence to support that the natural female cycles of ovulation and menses are 29.5 days long. The most extensive studies that have been conducted to determine the period between menses in fact came up with mean values of 29.5 days for these(2,3). A study of great relevance also measured the duration of menstrual periods in rural China, where artificial light was virtually non-existent(4). This study confirmed the same duration for the female cycle, 29.5 days. What was especially interesting about this is that the urinary levels of hydroxymelatonin, an excretion product resulting from the activation of the light sensitive hormone melatonin, were in fact measured over the course of the full moon cycle and found to correlate with it. The case was thus closed and the relationships between the full moon cycle, a light sensitive hormone affecting the onset of menses and the duration of the menstrual cycle itself was established in a setting that was much closer to natural conditions than that of most of the modern world. Considering this, it is not really possible to argue that the natural female cycle is 28 days. The data instead show that the female cycle is linked to the full moon cycle of 29.5 days, and it makes sense that in many cultures, including Native American, women have gathered at full moons and that their periods have been synchronized then. This is consistent with the mythologies everywhere in ancient times that the female cycle was linked to the full moon. Almost all pre-patriarchal cultures had a goddess associated with it.

Also, the best measure of the average duration of a pregnancy is 265.80 days, almost exactly 265.77 days corresponding to nine full moon cycles of 29.53 days. This is hardly accidental. In a large study of 510.000 births it was further found that births were more common on days of full moons than on other days. The authors concluded: "Biological and medical scientists…would take a step forward in scientific thinking and teaching if they abandoned the use of the fictitious 28 day 'lunar' month and if they adopted the view that human gestation is 9.00 + 0.01 synodic lunar months from conception (or ovulation)….and that the ovulatory or menstrual cycle is 1.00 + 0.01 such month in length." (5)

This quote indicates that even before (1959) the duration of the female cycle had been seriously disturbed by the contraceptive pill and other hormonal preparations the idea was already around that the female cycle was 28 days although this was in obvious conflict with the existing data. One might ask why? Leonard Shlain(6) argues that the exact correlation of menses and full moons in ancient times was the root of the first development of a marker of time. If nothing else, the words moon and menses have the same root. Very possibly there has later been an inclination on the part of males to deny the magical link between the female cycle and the full moon cycle and so in modern medicine the idea of a fictitious 28-day cycle came into existence.

Regardless, it seems clear that it is the period between full moons that is the natural female cycle. Since the erect woman of the human species could actually face the moon, and had a pineal gland that was affected by it, she came to be the only female with an ovulation cycle corresponding to the full moon. A calendar that would be an expression of the natural female cycle, unaffected by the artificial light and hormones of the modern world, would then really be the traditional Mayan way of counting moons. Their moons alternated in length between 29 and 30 days and went from full moon to full moon. Such a calendar, of course, would not be a prophetic calendar, but an endlessly repeated cycle. Yet, it is a natural female calendar related not only to ovulation, but also to gestation.

It is unlikely that in the modern world the female cycles would ever again be synchronized by the full moon. The number of sources of artificial light as well as hormonal preparations prohibit this together with the increasing spread of toxic substances that mimic hormonal effects. Nonetheless, it may still be important for women to know that they have a magical link to the full moon and its goddess.

The traditional Mayan moon calendar alternating between 29 and 30 days seems to serve such a purpose well, while a 28-day cycle will tend to deny this link.
