 Following his acquittal on politically-motivated charges of murder, Ugandan MP, Michael Ochula is back as Director of Elections for the FDC party, now aiming to unseat President Museveni from his 20 year reign --at elections scheduled for March, 2006.
Michael Ochula joins Fintan Dunne live from Kampala to discuss the future for Uganda; the challenges of campaigning in the face of intimidation; his party's election platform; and his hopes for the Gulu area of Northern Uganda, which he represents.
There a desperate humanitarian crisis has seen around a million Acholi driven from their lands into displaced persons camps --where they languish at the mercy of international NGOs; suffer regular food shortages and are victim to attacks by the LRA rebels in a conflict which Museveni has failed to resolve for the duration of his long tenure in office.
